Memory Care & Assisted Living in Clayton, NC
Went on a tour of the facility for my mother. I was very pleased with the staff that I met and was happy to see a clean facility for her to possibly live!!
I have had no complaints until now. Although there have been many things I could have complained about, lost clothing, and many falls ending in visits to the hospital. I am not able to be there like I should so I never complained. But to get a call that my aunt has to leave because a doctor said she needs more care than they can offer and to be sent a certified letter a few days later that she will be discharged from the facility on 3/27. Placement is not easy and I would think that the facility would know that.
My mom died 6 hours after leaving this facility to go into hospice. She was at Gabriel Manor for 4 years and not one person from the facility called, came to her funeral or offered the family any kind of condolences, until a family member posted a negative review. I could say a lot more, but that’s the lowest of lows. No integrity at all. No responsibility for mistakes made. All they see is dollar signs. They can’t keep decent staff bc no one with a conscious can work there for very long after they see how it’s managed.
The absolute worst place to reside. Rude to patients and family. Only address as Miss or you are treated fear /worry once you leave the facility that they’re gonna hurt the patient. They increased the payment saying that she’s a class 3 and weighed 98 lbs.Numerous bruises and unexplained swelling. Mom was not given the meds she was prescribed and I took her med bag to hospice and the meds I assumed she was on as discussed in the meeting given were not in the med bag. My mom died 6 hours once transported to Hospice. I was told that mom was fine and eating well. Hospice weighed her and weighed 68 lbs. Hospice would not accept meds that were not given by them. I checked all meds in the bag and there were no pain meds.except a morphine bottle with syringes. There were no oxycodone pills in the bag. Ms. Sharon is the day med tech and was always beyond rude. I addressed her as Ms.Sharon in fear of pain she could inflict mom, answer was always the same, she’ll be given her meds when it’s time. Basically felt like I should remain silent. in my opinion, they made my mom suffer to the edge of death. This facility should be shut down.
Having to place a love one into a facility is the last thing we ever want to do. Unfortunately, this decision came. Gabriel Manor made this transition the best they could for us. Working with hospital staff for paper work, on the day of placement staying well over their schedule, helping move items into the room, welcoming family and client at placement, client care givers calling him by name (even the ones as we walked pass them going to his room), and 2 care givers coming right into his room to get him ready for bed, All of this was our first interaction with the care he would receive. Walking away was not easy but we knew his care was at a level we would give to him. Great place to help with the hard decision we faced.
