Our loved one fell in June and broke her hip and fractured her neck. After a brief stay at Brookside (which we do NOT RECOMMEND) we found BRIGHTWATER. Immediately we all felt better! We fell in love with Brightwater. Whenever I left that other Brookside place, I felt like I needed a shower! I needed to wash the smell of that other place off of me and the temperature was always too hot or too cold. But at Brightwater, the residents have control over their own rooms’ temperatures. The food was immensely better, the entire place smells nice, they have a library, a puzzle room, a workout room, and many amenities! My loved one is not a fan of other people or being away from her home, and even she had to admit that the place was safe, clean, and had the hospitality and friendliness of a hotel! There are clubs and field trips.
Most of us had to return to work after our loved one was well enough to leave the hospital but not well enough to go home, and the level of care and cleanliness at Brightwater made it possible for us to focus at work and not worry about our loved one eating, getting medications, or moving about as she healed. Our loved one admitted that if she can no longer live in her home in the future, she would prefer Brightwater over any place else. We found the place worth every penny, but we admit it is “pricey”. There was a $1500 “community fee” that threw us for a bit of a loop but we were also in a very frazzled state by the time we needed Brightwater and may not have been understanding all the details. We especially thank Kelly K., Felicia, and so many others!
