It is almost time for my father to move into assisted-living. He has early onset of Alzheimer’s .I wanted to be proactive in my search for senior living and through an organization called caring.com, I was recommended to see Westmont of La Mesa. I made an appointment and met with Tamara. She was compassionate, lovely, and an expert, in my opinion. The facility is beautiful and very clean. It has so much to offer. I looked at the studio apartment. It was spacious and well equipped with essentials. The dining room is set up restaurant style and it is wonderful. The outside
areas are beautiful and comfortable. Pets are
allowed and that is a must for my father. The pool area with exercise equipment is well set up. There is much more they offer and I was so impressed with Tamara‘s presentation and knowledge. She answered questions that I never thought of. She made me feel the compassion, that my father absolutely deserves, was present there. I very much recommend a tour of this senior home when you are ready for your search.
the care staff are so careless and constantly are making fun of the residents whom are the ones relying on them needing their aid. it’s disgusting! there have been incidents where people have been in severe distress and they seem to be confused and uncoordinated. (As lovely as the dining toom is) It is entirely noticeable that the supervisor of the floor is the one that needs excessive training. Waiting with my family for almost 15 minutes for a bowl of soup is laughable. this is NOT where you want to leave your elderly families. I’ve spent a long amount at this place to understand that “Sabrina” lady is just as oblivious as her team. Do better!! I’m shocked this place has remained open.
We just moved my mom here and couldn’t be happier. She has a view of the park and takes her walker out there most days. She loves the food and the staff has been so helpful. There is always someone around to answer my questions when I have them. So glad we made this choice, we should have done it a lot sooner!
Do not recommend for your loved ones. Experience was not good, Memory Care unit below average at best. We were very disappointed how our mother was treated. Memory Care was not well staffed and expected families to pay for private care to help support the unit.
The property and staff are outstanding. Briercrest Park right behind the Westmont is a really nice outdoor space for family and residents. Having eaten the food, I can attest that it is delicious. Everything is very well maintained.
