I hired Caring Transitions this month to help me pack up and move from my apartment in Monrovia, CA to a new home I purchased at Sun City Palm Desert, sold on their promises of making my move easy and stress free because they had offices in both locations. Let me give you the lesson-learned right up front. NOT ALL CARING TRANSITIONS FRANCHISEES ARE THE SAME QUALITY.
The two-person team packing me up did well enough, although I found that many boxes were only labeled with destination room and not their content, slowing the unpacking process.
But I was only met with ONE totally overwhelmed person to unpack me and she barely got half my kitchen done after a full day. Frantic communication with the franchisee provided no reassurance that I would promptly get more help and so I fired the Palm Desert franchisee, scrambled, and hired a professional organizer – for more money, but the job’s getting done promptly.
My suggestion – even if you work with Caring Transitions from Monrovia, find someone else on your own at the other end.
POSTSCRIPT – The other franchisee did, to her credit, ultimately do the right thing, acknowledge responsibility, and made appropriate written and financial amends.
