Whittier Glen Assisted Living

This place is terrrible!!! I was mislead, someone or many many sell weed and and drinking is allowed out in the patio area!! It’s unfortunate that this facility doesn’t care for the well-being of its residents are. I mean most I believe are on medication and if you mix medication with alcohol, there’s so much that can happen especially with these elderly I believe this is beyond abuse. this place is terrible. Itzy,Kathleen and other people in management I guess if that’s what you call it never return phone try to sweep things underneath the rug and it’s just so not fair or safe for the residents. I’ll save my photo nd possibly post after I’ve spoken to people!!

Things have changed quite a bit at the facility in the past few months (not for good) and if you don’t visit frequently or talk to the residents then you are sadly misinformed. I posted a one star review on Pinnacle Senior Living because they are the ones that own the Whittier Glen Assisted Living facility, along with several others in CA and other states, and I believe they NOT the Whittier Glen staff are responsible for the negative changes at the facility. I hope Pinnacle Senior Living can get their act together. The residents deserve better and so do the employees.
UPDATE: this was previously categorized as an assisted living facility on yelp. It is now categorized as a rehabilitation center. I’m not sure what type of rehabilitation they are offering, but it certainly isn’t from alcohol because when you arrive and park in the parking lot, you will see a group of men at tables that have umbrellas who are imbibing with open containers. these men also dominate the area and others that live there are intimidated to smoke in that area even though that area is supposed to be for all residents. “Management” needs to step up to the plate and do something about these bullies that are controlling everybody else’s enjoyment of the facility. all residents pay some type of rent, whether they are on state assistance or whether they full pay and if you are fully paying, you should be appalled at what is happening at Whittier Glen. do better Whittier Glen!!!!!

I can say the maintenance director and crew are helpful. I had some big items to move and they responded quickly to lend a hand. So good job!

My brother suffered a stroke over five years ago and he is paralyzed on his left side. He needs a lot of care. He has been in several different care facilities over the years. He was verbally and physically abused at two facilities which made an already difficult situation very difficult for our family to have to deal with. He has been at Whittier Glen assisted living for over a year now and from what I’ve observed over the past year is that the people who work there and care for the residents are very kind and caring and take good care of my brother as well as the other residents. They hold fun functions and events for the residents and their families. They do their best to make it a loving and caring environment . Itzi the director, Jaelyn the administrative coordinator , Michelle the receptionist, Liz in accounting, Anthony a caregiver to my brother is an Angel and Scott the maintenance man have been friendly and always willing to help. No facility is perfect but these people definitely do their best. Living an hour away from my brother makes it hard to be there to make sure he is ok and having to trust other people to give him the kindness, compassion and care he needs isn’t easy either especially given our past experiences but the people I mentioned definitely help put my heart at ease. And for that I am grateful. ❤️

Facilities is always well kept, residents are wonderful as well as the staff and management !
