A vibrant community hub dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors (50+).
A safe, fun place to workout and meet happy seniors! Love the exercise.
My son took swim lessons, and the instructor Marcos was absolutely amazing.. all the staff was great.
Went to the adult swim from 4 to 6 pm…nice heated pool..5.00 to get in.
I’ve been using the pool as often as I can, depending on my schedule availability (Dr Apts, transportation, tasks, events, life, etc) and injury status.
The pool is a therapeutic lap swimming pool! Beware the pool temp range is up to 87°f (I think, needs verification). I was surprised at how tired it made me the first time I used it. I was barely able to swim 1 lap without stopping. It’s like when you get into a warm bath and your body starts relaxing. Being aware of that and how much harder it is to cool yourself while exercising can sneak up on you and zap your energy away unexpectedly quickly. Knowing this can help prepare you for that, and once used to it, you can plan and adjust your exercises accordingly.
The staff is great, the lifeguards are young kids (typically employed by any municipality pool & recorations department) in their mid teens to early 20s with great attitudes and personalities, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and helpfull.
The pool itself is on the smallish side for a city pool (hey, it’s a small city… very small), with an adjacent hot tub. It’s clean, in good condition, great location, but a little difficult to find for anyone unfamiliar with the area. And, yes, every now and again the hot tub isn’t working or has an issue. It’s been around quite a while.
I was surprised to find I hadn’t already written a review for this place. I was actually looking it up to contact them and confirm when the pool opens for this season (2024) and what the hours are. I think their season opened in March last year and closed on Oct 31st.
PS: If you hear rumors about a mermaid appearing at this pool every now and again, yes, they are true. I’m the mermaid. Now get your tails down there! Photos taken by the lifeguard on my phone. I tried to find photos without other people in it due to permission issues.
