My experience with 305 West End Assisted Living has been nothing short of exceptional, and I have to give a huge shoutout to the nursing team. They are truly the heart of this community—caring, professional, and always going above and beyond to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
From the moment you walk in, you can see the dedication and compassion they bring to their work. I can’t say enough about the level of care they provide—it’s rare to find a team that combines skill with such genuine warmth. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be in the best hands, 305 West End Assisted Living is the place to be.
Do not place your family at 305. They promise you they will take good care of your loved one and I’m horrified by the level of neglect and deceit that has happened with my mother in the year she has been there. She needed PT, their therapist went away for six weeks and they did not find a replacement for her. As a result, her legs swelled, split, and now have sores all over them. I was promised by their nurse that her dressings would be changed, a week later when I visited I found out that they had not done so and now she has infected bloody sores. I will be taking legal action. Additionally, their finance department is a mess and the bills are always incorrect with additional charges and raised fees put on arbitrarily. Written complaints are not answered. Promises to help with showering and other hygiene are neglected. I should have suspected something when some electronics were stolen from her room the first week.
Wonderful and warm staff, delicious food, and enriching events for seniors. A fantastic and welcoming community on the beautiful Upper West Side. My senior enjoyed his time at 305; strongly recommend.
I have visited a friend who lives there. The staff and management are rude. The staff people ignore the residents and gossip and joke with themselves in Spanish. I have visited more than 6 senior living facilities and this is the worst by far. The wait staff at meals seem to be randomly assigned, wait on different tables during a single meal, and ignore signals for help from the diners and guests. The food is mediocre. Staff and Management should attend a course in compassion and kindness. It is sad to see people at the end of their lives treated with contempt at a place where their hope is to find kindness and good will.
We have been thrilled with how the staff has helped my father acclimate to his new home. The staff’s warmth, patience, and responsiveness have truly been remarkable. The programming director has created a roster of activities that are diverse, well-planned, and very engaging. Every morning my father looks forward to starting his day with the one of the group exercise classes, and taking a walk along the wide, peaceful sidewalks that surround 305 WEA and lead to Riverside Park. Dad has also expanded his horizons, learning acrylic painting, something he has never done before and found he really enjoys. He’s also been able to continue pursuing his long held interests in politics, travel, and reading by participating in 305’s current events group, lectures, and book club. Monthly trips provide Dad a change of scenery and a chance to explore parts of New York he hasn’t seen before. Dad’s photos from a recent trip to Wave Hill were so beautiful that my hisband and I are adding the park to our list of places to go. Last week was Dad’s 93rd birthday, and the staff went out of its way to help my father celebrate at a dinner in the private dining room, with our family and two new friends he met at 305. These new friendships and experiences have confirmed for us that we made the right decison in choosing 305 WEA for my father.
