  1. This building has the most excessively sensitive smoke detectors I have ever encountered in my life, like I have seen SHOWERS set these off. It’s gotten so bad I actually figured out the type of smoke detector they use is the most sensitive style on the market!! Be prepared to have a fire alarm go off at least once every day or two because that’s the reality of living here, and it doesn’t help that the faucets in every unit take a full minute of running to heat up to room temperature. I’m in my second year of living here and regret every second of it, please avoid.

edit: if they are as “committed to solving this problem” as their reply suggests then why has it been a consistent complaint for multiple years 🤔

edit 2: oh and also this side gate is fully broken right now (for days) and left open for anyone off the street to just walk right in! this also happens rather frequently, as the door stays “fixed” for no more than a week on average

  2. Twin River Commons is the best off-campus housing! All staff are extremely friendly and eager to help. The furniture is in great condition, and the apartment layouts are very useful and functional. The gym, coffee machine, and the courtyard are also great additions!

  3. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Sure the apartments are decently nice but the staff are so incompetent and rude that they ruin it. Smoke detectors go off constantly. On the weekends building is ridiculously loud and has paper thin walls, so be prepared to go somewhere else if you need to get any work done. If you pay $75 a month for parking you may not have a parking spot on holiday weekends when people let all their visiting friends park in the lot. Make sure you also keep your car locked as twin refuses to do anything about the random people wandering through the parking lot looking in cars or the homeless people rummaging through the dumpsters that you get to interact with if you ever come back late at night. Also be prepared to have maintenance showing up unannounced at random times to do random things like take pictures of your apartment or change filters, or for them to set the fire alarms off 50+ times in a day for “testing,” again without any warning that this would be happening. If they’re still charging the $200 “communication fee” when you move in just know that you might as well just burn that money because these people can’t communicate to save their lives.

You can get a much nicer living situation for less money if you go somewhere else. Don’t live here, you don’t get the “luxury student housing” experience that is advertised or that you pay for. I made the mistake of renewing my lease because it’s easier than moving, and now I regret it and can’t wait to move out.

You should also be aware that most of the 5 star reviews on here are because a couple times a year they will have a raffle that you enter by leaving them a review, so people leave good reviews trying to win something. This is why the 5 star reviews come in bursts around when this promotion happens, not over the whole year.
