  1. Front door staff is welcoming. The nurses and staff in back with the patients are horrible, rude and lazy! I asked a nurse for assistance moving my grandmother and she told me no because she was waiting for the next nurse to come in and relieve her. Everyone there has attitude, no one wants to be helpful. My grandmother has fallen 3 times and the urgency to assist her was not there. Please hire better staff that actually can empathize with their patients and the families.

  2. The only reason I gave 1 star is because I wouldn’t be able to leave a review. They DON’T even deserve that.

All I can say is stay away, My Mom was only here for a week. They are understaffed. Nothing got done unless I was there and made sure my Mom was taking care of. None of these places are good as far as I’m concerned. They have all the elders who need to be watched lined up in front of the nurses station. It’s a sad place. Some of the staff got really nasty with me because I asked for help offen. They never turned my Mom. She had bed sores. And the last day she was there. I walked into a bloody towel wrapped around her wrist where the IV fell out. Absolutely horrible. That same day. She’s he told me she could breathe, even with the oxygen. I immediately told the nurse to call an ambulance. My Mom is going back to the hospital. Then I called to make sure they did. I was there every day all day. For myself, if I knew I wasn’t going home, I’d rather be done. That’s no way to live. God bless all the people in there.

  3. I would give zero stars if I could. Everyone who is saying this place is where you send someone you hate is not joking or exaggerating. I have a lot of empathy for healthcare workers, especially nursing home workers, but Parkview deserves absolutely no credit nor consideration, as they provide none to their patients. This facility is a stunning example not of negligence but of intentional hindrance of health, safety, and care.

To the person who said that they refused physical therapy – you are absolutely correct. My grandmother was a patient for 18 months and they refused her physical therapy despite it being part of her treatment plan. When my mother pressed them over and over, they purposely offered it minutes after a meal or in the early hours of morning. They did everything they could not to give her this care.

The supervisors and social workers collaborated to gaslight myself and my mother about the times my grandmother was mistreated by staff despite my mother even being on a phone call with my grandmother while one such instance took place. My grandmother has no memory issues and even this facility declared her of sound mind – there is no chance that she imagined or exaggerated these encounters. Every time we visited her, we were treated coldly and scolded for asking questions about her treatment or daring to bring her a treat or gift, many of which were taken from her once we left.

In fact, they tried month after month to convince my grandmother that she would never leave despite being updated constantly about the housing that had been secured for her. I am glad they did, because in the words of one, “she’s not my problem!” and of another who took over after the first did not want to help her “I don’t want to deal with her anymore”, which ended in our favor, allowing us to take her home because they were so eager not to do their job.

Even after discharge, they continued to be an obstacle in my grandmother’s care, refusing any assistance with a prior authorization required for my grandmother to get her insulin, which they had prescribed. We battled for nearly 1.5 months to get them to start the prior authorization process, which they failed to do and she was forced to go to an urgent care and receive that bill out of desperation. (Before anyone asks- this prior auth was for the 30 day supply that the NURSING HOME ordered to allow her time to establish care after discharge, this was not a refill.)

They received her social security benefits erroneously and refused to return the full amount despite at least 6 phone calls and being transferred to three different departments when they finally answered the phone. They even put a hold on her Medicare/Medicaid profile to prevent her from receiving case management/social work services, which we’ve called at least ten times about.

I would understand some brief chaos after discharge, but it has been three months and now we are just hung up on once we say who we are calling regarding. This is targeted and shows a lack of respect and care.

Even just the basic healthcare was completely ridiculous – My grandmother was routinely scolded for asking such insane questions as “what medication am i taking” and “what is it for” or “what vaccine are you giving me”. It was only from a casual conversation that we found out my grandmother even had COVID in this facility because they completely covered it up and did not inform my mother (her emergency contact AND health proxy).

If you are considering putting a loved one in this place, do everything to prevent it. It is hell, patients are abandoned to scream for hours in their room, and those who do get attention are mistreated. Even the very few good people there are not enough to
make this experience bearable. For those attempting to help their loved one navigate their care, know you will be shut out and bounced between people without actual answers about their status or progress because there is none. It is by far worth it to spend
any amount to keep them from ever seeing this place.

  4. Zero Stars.
    STAY AWAY for REHAB CARE.
My Father was rushed to the Hospital from Parkview to St Joseph’s emergency room on Memorial day, due to the gross negligence and incompetence of the nurses and aides.
My Father was recovering from pneumonia and needed rehab to stand and walk again. Under their care he developed a bacteria abscess caused by a bacterial infection, due to the aides not cleaning him and changing him adequately. He was given IV antibiotics to treat the infection, but the nurses did not monitor his blood. There was a dangerous HIGH level of antibiotics in his blood (Vencomycin and Zosyn), which caused his hemoglobin to go down to 7 !
They also did not check my dad’s kidney blood level. His Level was 3.9, which is dangerously close to kidney failure!
When the Doctor finally noticed the blood levels combined with fatigue, he immediately had the staff call an ambulance to send him to the Hospital for an emergency blood transfusion.

    Other complaints include the following:

    1. Therapist Ryan Ettinger did not return my calls, regarding my Dad’s physical therapy.
    2. Aides where physically very rough transferring my Dad from the wheelchair to the bed and vice versa.
    3. My dad was dressed in other people’s clothing, which was not the right size, causing him to be very uncomfortable and hindered him from moving in Physical Therapy.
    4. Disgruntled and unprofessional aides were complaining about their job and yelling at him to move when they had to clean and change him.
    5. My dad could not eat the food! His meals were cold and had no nutritional value. The staff noticed he was not eating, but would just continue to drop it off and pick it up not asking if he wanted something else!

The service at Parkview was horrendous.
The only person that communicated with me regularly for help was Social Worker Sharon Leach.
But she downplayed everything in a condescending manner.
I don’t know about long stays, but STAY AWAY from this place for Rehab.
