My husband and I had my mother in law with dementia at this facility. The staff was kind, helpful, knowledgeable and patient with her. She could be difficult at times, but they took good care of her. The day she passed, you would’ve thought she was one of their family members.To us, this facility is West Dallas’s best kept secret as far as nursing home care is concerned. They were on point when she needed to go to the ER or if she needed any additional care. Of course, we had to do our part , and by doing that we established a close relationship with the management and staff. I will be recommending this facility to others. We know that when you have to take care of a loved one, it takes a village, and we are grateful to have had the Lakewest Rehab and Nursing Home as part of our village.
I went to visit a friend there a few weeks ago and saw that his room was very filthy, and he had been sitting in his mess for hours & was very thirsty- he said no one had checked in on him, and he accidentally dropped the nurse button after trying to call for help like 3 times. A staff member was out in the hallway outside his room looking at videos on her phone, while patients are being neglected!!!
And some of the same reviews on here mention how rude & incompetent the staff is, THIS IS RIGHT ON POINT!!!
They were rude & bothered if you ask them for anything. This place needs to be shut down – This report, along with others I’ve seen on here will be forwarded onto the appropriate authorities.
I like working there I like the administration the staff are very social and this my area i grew up in so to see all these wonderful people residents and staff and the Administrator stays on the floor she knows every resident in her facility. The receptionist is a very sweet young lady i love it here. #lakewest

Please don’t leave your loved one here. I’m a CNA saying this. Most of the 5-star reviews here are fake, made by employees. I recognize some of them. I worked some shifts here and saw patients being neglected and disrespected in ways I never thought healthcare providers could do. The place is dirty, smelly, and in disrepair, and the staff is unprofessional. There are only two nurse aides per hall, meaning more than 12 patients per staff member per 8-hour shift. They don’t have enough supplies for the patients, and I couldn’t find deodorant for them. Patients’ clothes are not being washed and are left on the closet floor dirty or in bags that aren’t washed, causing a bad odor. The toilets are worse than public bathrooms, with pee and feces inside and around them. There is also a cockroach infestation in one of the bathrooms, which the resident informed me has been present in her room for a while due to the pests coming from the walls. This is unacceptable for a healthcare facility. The ACs are flooding the rooms, and patients are sleeping with wet floors, which is dangerous. They don’t follow the law requiring two staff members to operate a Hoyer Lift. They lack empathy, bedside manner, respect, and support for their patients. I saw patients begging to leave because staff yelled at them and they felt vulnerable. I’m heartbroken for these people who don’t have the support and care they deserve, regardless of their financial situation. They are human beings who deserve to be clean and in a clean environment.
U know you never know where life may take you and I wanna say i was down and out for the count 3 or 4 years ago but those good people at lake West rehab they will help you get yourself back together the administrator Miss Erica she is a wonderful administrator the activities coordinator Marvin from from the d o n Miss Cherise from the atom and Sheila and the rest of the great staff at lakewest were really helpful for me and they got me back to where I can go home and live on my own so if you want your loved ones taken care of take him to lake West rehab facility were they take care of your family and help them along the way
