One of the hardest moments I faced as a caregiver was when my patient had a bad day. I often felt helpless, but I learned that being there, showing love, and offering comfort was what mattered most. Even on difficult days, our connection was the most important thing. I appreciate the company for giving me the opportunity to be able to care for these patients and making them apart of me even if it’s just temporarily.
The staff & caregivers at Canaan Homecare are top notch. They take excellent care of my 100 year old Dad. The caregivers arrive on time and pay attention to all the details necessary to ensure my Dad has everything he needs for his day. The care managers routinely visit with clients, including Dad, and make sure the quality of care they receive keeps up with any changes in their situation. I love that they’re a family owned, local business. I high recommend their service.
My mother has been a client of Canaan Home Care for approximately 1 1/2 years. I would like to recognize and thank our wonderful caregivers for their expert care of my mom: Traci, Olivia, and Elsa. Other wonderful caregivers that have been a part of the team are Izzy, Latrina, Lyn, Lulu and Adela. The office team and supervisors (thank you Jaelon and Iggy!) have always been super responsive to any concerns and always communicate any changes in the schedule. I work full time as a nurse and I’m pretty particular about who is around my mom. There are pros and cons with hiring an agency. Pros: caregivers are background checked. Caregivers receive benefits as with any employer, Agencies are accountable to their employees to make sure they are in safe environment. Caregivers are accountable to their agency to provide expert care. If a caregiver is ill, they will send a replacement (which means I don’t have to call out of work). If someone isn’t a good fit, they will find someone who is. The caregivers have decades of experience caring for elderly and dementia patients. Ther only con I can think of is that home care can be pricey depending on how many hours of care you need. All in all, I am very happy that I chose Canaan to help me care for my mom.
It’s nice to work with Canaan Home Care, especially with Iggy Flaig, make my schedule easy, and communicate on time.
Iggy always ahead of time to give us notice. She understands the needs of caregivers.
Iggy at Canaan was quick to find me a caregiver for my parents right away. We are very happy with our caregiver too. They found us a perfect match. Highly recommend them.
