We have been using Friends for Life since around January, not every thing was perfect, but when we had a situation the company handled it right away.
One of the aides was brought to us on an emergency situation and from that point on she never left us. Her name was Sydoney and she was a life saver to our family. She had to take care of both of our parents. Trust me it wasn’t always easy, but she did it with a smile on her face. I mean, sometimes it was exhausting and I totally could relate. If she had a bad day with our parents (or even some family members), I just assured her that I had her back and she was doing a great job. Positive comments went along way.
Unfortunately just a few months later one parent passed away unexpectedly. Sydoney was right there with her and made her feel comfortable not knowing she was going to pass just a few hours later. We were woken up in the middle of the night by the camera in the room and we watched Sydoney with her. She was just so comforting for all of us.
Now Sydoney was left with one.. feeling lost and unsure she could continue, I reassured her that our father needed her and what a wonderful person she was, she jumped back in with full force. Sadly He only lasted 7 more moths but within that seven months he would decline and become more challenging. She stayed right with him till the end. Sydoney treated our family like family. A true bond for everyone.
Anyone that is lucky enough to get our Sydoney is going to have the best experience ever.
Never take aides for granted. Treat them the way you want to be treated. And sometimes it take a little bit to find the right one, but never give up and pray for more Sydoney’s.
I recommend this company to anyone that needs a home care agency. But remember… someone has to be involved at all times.

I can’t say enough about how wonderfully helpful, understanding, caring and compassionate everyone I interacted with at Friends For Life (FFL) have been. I’ve been friends with Amy (owner) since HS. When the role reversal began, and we had to begin thinking about taking care of our parents, my siblings and I had no idea what needed to be done. I took the lead and reached out to Amy; a meeting with the FFL care team was scheduled a few days later. Melinda Eldora, FFL’s Medicaid specialist was kind and patient, virtually holding my hand throughout the entire process. She explained the entire process, made a list of what documents were needed and how to collect them. Melinda was always available for every question, promptly returned all calls and even listened and empathized while I had a mini breakdown when I was feeling particularly sad and overwhelmed. Using Friends For Life was the easiest and best decision I made on this difficult journey.
