My mom has been there for about a year now. We go to see her at least once a week. Every single person on staff is kind and caring. They take such good care of my mother, have regular activities for the residents and are just truly nice people. I could not recommend this place more highly, especially after having my mother in other places that were not nearly as warm or concerned about her well being
I don’t even know what the facility is like inside, but I have had horrible episodes with some of the employees. I live right next door to the facility, and though the tenants all have air conditioning, they still keep their windows open, and when the employees start their rounds for waking up the tenants (6:00-6:30am) we hear the noise everyday. The noises we hear at 6am come from the employees that chat on their phones, you can hear the walkie-talkies blasting, they have tenants that leave cowboy movies blasting all night, there is a tenant that yells from the moment he wakes up to the moment he falls asleep, he also had his window open at 6am.with total disregard to the rest of the neighborhood . There was even a time when I called the facility at 6:20 am because an electrician was hammering on their roof, right in front of my window. The young lady that answered the phone said “what am I supposed to do about it”, I answered “how about getting the guy off your roof that shouldn’t be there!”and then she proceeded to tell me that she didn’t like my angry-just-got-woken-at-six tone. I have been to the facility in person more than 10 times and called over 20, next time I think I will file a noise complaint with the police.
Came to tour my mom for a possible facility. David was able to help me tour the facility and was very informative. He made my mom feel super comfortable. My mom is usually a very quiet person , he had her smiling and laughing. That warmed my heart and helped my finalize my decision. Looking forward to moving my mom in. Definitely recommend this place!
I was referred here by the APFM registry. I phoned a day ahead, got a tour appointment for 10 am today, and drove for 35 minutes to get here.
There was only one person answering the phones, the front door, wandering demented residents, and she called around to find Rachel (my contact). However, after 15 minutes, no one had come forth to help me. And the odor in the lobby was quite annoying. So I left and got back on the freeway.
Glen Park is by far the best assisted living facility I have found for my loved one in need of memory care. I did extensive research to find Glen Park and each time I visit I am consistently impressed with the staff, the facility and the program that they offer. I am forever grateful to Glen Park Mariposa for the thoughtful and compassionate care they continue to provide.
