I just think people need to read article in US News got a below average score long term care 1 out of 3 and a below average score from state 2 out of 5. Do your research thoroughly before placement of your loved one. Or if it’s some you care nothing about than put them here, that’s all I have to say.
I just wanted to share my experience as a family member. My sister was sent to the rehab center to rehab for her toes to removed. She was in very good health before her visit back in April. My sister was treated like a beloved family member from the beginning. The nurses to the administration, physical therapist, and the activities director down to the cooks in the kitchen were nothing but amazing. I will be forever grateful for all the love and support they gave her and myself as well. Most often it is a thankless job so I want to give my sincere thank you
My mother had a fall in Oroville where we live. She ended up breaking a bone, requiring her to go to Gridley Post Acute for recovery. I chose this facility based on its 5 star rating from Medicare. Everything was clean, and the staff were friendly.
I want to thank the staff for the care my mother received and for making a scary situation much more manageable. I was grateful for the Spanish speaking nurses, who made my mother feel comfortable and understood. I highly recommend Gridley Post Acute to anyone in need of quality post acute care.
The only real complaint I have is the food! The portions are less than a kids menu would give you, breakfast is usually one piece of toast and one scrambled egg, and boy do they like to serve zucchini and broccoli (Yuk). But after a couple weeks I learned that you can alter your food choices! Everything else is pretty good actually, I LOVED my nurses and my roommate so that made my stay above average,. Not much to do here, so make sure you bring your phone loaded with movie and tv channels and a good variety of time consuming games …. Otherwise you may just die of boredom!
If I could take away a star I would. I had major spine surgery with a 12″ anterior incision, and 2 posterior incisions. Going to a skilled nursing facility was MY choice to get a bit stronger before going home alone. They never once gave me my pain meds as prescribed to remain ahead of the pain, they never gave me the prescribed mirilax, and the folks with the RN badges got them straight out of a cracker jack box. I was woken by SEVERE pain in my left side, so much it had me sobbing. The “RN” slapped a lidocaine patch on it and called it a night. I could write a paperback novel about the atrocious behavior of the staff but nobody has time for that. I checked myself out of there today after they threatened to throw my medications in the trash if I did so. Health dept needs to pay them a visit ASAP. I’ve got pictures of anyone is interested.
