I was in search of an independent living facility that would provide top notch service for my grandpa, a place that he could call home. Our prayers were answered when we stumbled upon IN R Great Hands! The staff and everyone is so down to earth, friendly, funny and treat residents as they are their own family members. Grandpa seemed to fit right in as they offer a variety of activities! We love the neighborhood and set up of the modern beautiful home. Everything is senior friendly and accommodates those with a disability… from the shower to the beds, to the couches and clean, clutter free rooms! The food looks delicious and according to grandpa tastes just as good as it looks! I’m happy that he’s in good hands that we trust. And that grandpa is receiving quality care! We couldn’t be happier with the staff and level of professionalism and sincerity at this home. I thank them for taking care of grandpa as though he was their family. We are grateful!
After touring countless residential homes in search of a tranquil, best-fit environment we knew immediately this home was the best fit to place our mother. Upon arrival we met the owners and were greeted with a warm genuine smile. They were welcoming, super friendly and sincere about answering all our questions that came to mind. Their patience put us at ease.
Upon the tour, Some residents looked extremely happy doing activities such as crossword puzzles, dancing, exercises while watching their favorite show. Everyone seemed so content. It’s extremely impressive to see residents so engaged and enjoying their activities! It’s a relief to see elders so active and that there were so many things offered to keep everyone entertained. The staff were friendly and looked happy. The food they served looked delicious as well! I knew my mom would fit right in.
Fast forward, mom has been there for a few months and every time we visit she is super happy to see us. But more importantly we can tell she is happy at her new home away from home. As many know, It’s already extremely hard to place family under someone’s care, so to find people you trust is rare. But without a doubt in my mind In R Great hands has been nothing but a positive, wonderful experience for my family and my mom. I would highly highly recommend this home if you are seeking to have someone diligently and genuinely take care of an elder. They are the best, trustworthy, high quality place and we’re blessed to have found this place!
My family decided to place our grandmother here. The staff was very good to her and took great care of her. My mom would visit often and she was always pleased with the care and the food that they serve. When my grandmother passed away, some of the staff members still keeps in contact with my mom to make sure that my mom is okay. They even sent us printed pictures of my grandmother while she was living there to remember her by–which we love and appreciated.
We have searched for a more home like environment to move my grandmother since she was living in a larger facility and we felt like she needed more care. We toured several homes and lucky we finally found a place that we all agreed would be the best place for her. We visited the home a few times with my grandmother and she loved it. We moved her to her new home in February and the staff was always attentive to her needs and they took great care of her. They were constantly in contact with my mom with any changes that my grandmother was going through and were always in contact with her medical team that comes and sees her. The house was always spotless everytime we visit and the staff was always friendly. Even after my grandmother has moved on, some of the staff members have kept in touch with my mom to see how she is doing. It was the best decision for us and for my grandma that we decided to move her here–we felt like family to them.
My beloved spouse was in this place for one month and about two weeks. I warned this facility about my spouse’s urology issues. I was a witness to my spouse asking the caregiver to go to the bathroom. My spouse was told to go in the TWO diapers on my spouse. My spouse blinked the eyes several times and then asked to go to the bathroom a second time. My spouse was denied a second time to go to the bathroom and was told to go asleep since my spouse had just been given medication. I complained to the person I signed the paperwork with and to the person whose name is on this place’s paperwork. That second person told me that the reason my spouse could go in the TWO diapers is that the caregiver said that my spouse did not need to be concerned about wetting the clothes. I was stunned at this reasoning. I saw my spouse everyday at this facility that they allowed me and for the whole allotted time due to COVID time frames. They felt that that needed to feed my spouse more often and do PT twice a day due to my concerns that I felt that my spouse was declining.
I was able to expedite an appointment with my spouse primary physician within about two weeks from the diaper incidence and when I came to pickup my spouse for the appointment, my spouse could not be moved out of the wheelchair. My spouse was non-communicative.The person who I signed the paperwork with was called by someone in this facility and the person I signed the paperwork with called 911. At the emergency room, my spouse STILL had on TWO diapers. My beloved was diagnosed with severe UTI sepsis.
A word to the wise!
