My companion has been at Ivy Park Oakland in their Evergreen memory care for 5 months. I’m am so impressed with the care here. The care givers are kind, attentive and loving. The activities (dancing, painting) and the view is outstanding! The food is good, too. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We highly recommend it for your loved one.
I just wanted to say how grateful I am to the staff at Ivy Park at Oakland Hills for taking such good care of my Mom Julie and her little dog Bella over the last two-and-a-half months. They are unfailingly kind, thoughtful and cheerful there. Mom says the people are nice and the food is good, and she has no complaints! There are attractive outdoor spaces around the facility as well as nice rooms and a large common room and dining room on the memory care floor. Scheduled activities go on all day there for those who want to participate, including a great concert that Mom and I got to listen to together for a bit.
I especially like that they have dedicated med techs giving the medicines, as we had problems with caregivers from Mom’s last home-care company making repeated medication administration errors with both Mom and Dad. It gives me great peace of mind to know that mom’s in the care of real professionals now and in pleasant surroundings. If you’re looking for a safe and attractive place for your loved one in Oakland, CA, give Ivy Park a look.
Great facility.
I can’t say enough good things about Cheryl Laven (Director of Sales). I met with her on a rainy day back in March about possible placement for my dad (who suffers from behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia). I was honest about the challenges I was facing with dad’s particular behavior and I felt like I was speaking with a new best friend. Although Sunrise was unable to accept dad as a resident (for understandable reasons) Cheryl was so kind, empathic, and went the extra mile to contact other facilities that might be an option. I wish we’d met under different circumstances so we could meet up for coffee! The facility itself is lovely and everyone seemed very nice. Wish we could have called it home for dad.
Gorgeous setting and high-quality facilities – and a special plus were the insights and guidance provided by Cheryl Laven, who really took the time to answer all our questions so thoroughly! So valuable!
