I didn’t get to view the apartments here due to a very busy schedule, but they followed up with me a few times , very hospitipal, in regards to answering all of my questions.
Cannot express what a disaster this place has become. Stopped counting the maintenance issues, ignored emergency (flood) calls, water shut offs, leaks, cabinets falling apart, exposed pipes, huge hoses running the length of the hallways prohibiting safe access for residents with mobility concerns. High staff turn over and management doesn’t respond to texts. There’s always finger pointing and blame placed on someone else – complete lack of accountability. Voice mailboxes are ALWAYS full so you can’t leave a message and there is a complete disregard for any follow through. The month I moved my mother out there were no less than 3 other people similarly disgusted with the situation there and moving “anywhere but here”. Rent was increased, utility payments were modified so it benefitted the apartment complex and now to add insult to injury Legacy Hills is now delinquent with the return of the security deposit (21 calendar days was 7 days ago). This after living with broken window coverings and a series of window leaks that were never completely resolved after months of reporting and repeated complaints. Significant changes are needed!!
UPDATE SEP 2023:
Since this appears to be the only way to get any sort of a response to the numerous voice messages, emails, text messages and phone calls to numbers with full mailboxes, I need the name of a manager to be listed on the Small Claims Court filing. There are NO business cards or personnel listings on any website or facility front desk. I have called, emailed and texted every number, mail address and facility associated with Legacy Hills Poway and have yet to receive ANY response beyond “We are waiting for Marylyn to come into the office” to discuss — that was on AUGUST 30TH, 2023.
Legacy Hills of Poway (formerly Seacrest Village of Poway) has been a blessing for our family! When Seacrest was sold we were very concerned if the new ownership would be able to maintain and nurture the same intimate family environment and sense of security and friendships our Mom values so much. We are so pleased that the new ownership has done this and they have also brought in a new Director – one that every senior living center would want! Amy Benaga is experienced in senior living, she is warm, compassionate, friendly, outgoing and she truly possesses a servants heart. I highly recommend Legacy Hills of Poway and encourage you to take a virtual tour to get a glimpse into this quaint, tucked away gem! And, take a drive over as well so you can see how the building is tucked into the hills of Poway and the beautiful walking trails and gardens right on property. (Note: I am reserving the 5th star knowing that once the current Covid related restrictions are lifted Amy will finally be able to implement her social/activity and growth plan).
