What a blessing to have our loved ones heal AND then come back home! Dementia is a brutal disease and I’ve witnessed it take down the individual as well as their families. From my perspective, Marama is one of the best investments anyone can make in their future or for their loved ones. Reversing or preventing that plight is absolutely key. Chef Gil cooks three meals a day for the guest and it is amazing. Like eating out every night at a high end restaurant only the food is optimized for brain and body health. Not just taste. Too bad most restaurants are not this good!
Our mom has been at Marama for several months and we are so thankful for the experience she’s having. From the specialized diet, to the holistic medical work-up, supplements, and interventions like sauna, red-light therapy, and exercise with supplemental oxygen, she’s getting all the best possible treatments for her condition. And it is showing in her improvements. But most importantly, she loves the staff and residents and is enjoying her time at Marama.

My mother was a resident at Marama for over 2 years and her transformation was amazing under the care of Dr. Sandison and the wonderful staff at Marama! Marama is amazing…compared to other senior homes and memory care facilities there is nothing like the activities, the food and the alternative therapies. Marama is such a beautiful place to live, my mom had access to a patio right outside of her room and she was able to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful weather! The caregivers helped keep my moms spirits high even when her body was detoxing and healing…they were cheerful, encouraging even on the tough days! I would move my mom in again in a heartbeat…we are super fortunate to be able to move my mom back home and I know for a fact that it would not have been possible without Marama.
We travel and enjoy life together and our mom is doing great! Everyone in the community comment on how well she is doing and when we share how long she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s people are literally amazed! We love our ohana at Marama and always look forward to visits!
