My mother is currently checked in the facility for rehabilitation. She had fallen and broke a few ribs. So they sent her here. It was supposed to be for 3 weeks. It’s been almost 2 months. The nurse lady in charge of the 1st floor has came up with every excuse in the book to not let my mom go. She keeps asking, who’s at the house to take care of my mom? How is she gonna get in the house if there’s stairs? My mom has 12 kids. She has people to take care of her. And there’s another entrance for my mom into the apartment. We told her all this. AND SHES STILL SAYING “NO”. My mom wants to leave. She has been crying and begging you guys to let her go. They miss medications. And they’re rude!!!! The food is horrible! The plainest food I have ever seen. It’s sad. Don’t let the pretty walls and pretty pictures fool you. It feels like they’re running an insurance scam of some sort.
All in all we were very pleased with the care for my husband after back surgery. This was his 2nd time at Mission; first back surgery a year ago. We requested Mission again because of the care he received last year. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful and several remembered him from a year ago. The meals were pretty tasty according to him. Dr Kumar is a wonderful doctor, very attentive. Occupational and physical therapy excellent too. He was there almost a month and don’t regret it at all!!! Very advantageous in his recovery.
Agree entirely with recent reviews. Handful of great staff but ratio of staff to patients awful – Dr. Kumar was rude and dismissive of family concerns – known issue at admission was ignored until discharge – constant dance to advocate for care. I’d avoid this facility.
