I left 5 voicemail msgs starting b/4 labor day as I needed a ride to a medical appt that I can’t drive to or back from. I didn’t receive return call until this past Fri advising me Catholic Charity would call me by today, which they did. They informed me that I may not be able to get the transportation b/c of short notice. I was supposed to get a call today letting me know (no call received). If OFA had returned my calls promptly I would have given ample notice.
UPDATE: I finally received a return call & was given the # of the agency that provides this service. I spoke to a woman who took my information & advised me I would get a call to set up the transportation. Not surprising never received the call. If I didn’t have an alternate ride I would have missed my procedure. This is appalling. Many seniors do NOT have family or friends to take them around so transportation by OFA & Catholic Charities may be their only option.
Very disappointed.
Keep getting conflicting info about Medicare. Kind of up in the air about that process. People are all lovely though.
