My Mother in Law has been thrilled with the accommodations and care staff during her time in rehab at Oakland Heights. She loves the activities and attention from staff. Thank you!
My dear Aunt was here at Pacifica Oakland Heights. Horrible place! PLEASE do not put your loved ones here. She paid nearly $10,000/mo for an old, dirty, cockroach infested, place that had mold clearly visible in the bathroom from day one. The “caretakers” dropped my aunt on multiple occasions, causing cuts and bruises. When she was there (2023/2024) she said there was one nurse for the entire facility. One time she waited nearly a week for a dressing change for some leg wounds. We ended up calling for transport to the hospital because it looked so bad.
Also, this is OAKLAND, a cesspool of crime, On Super Bowl Sunday she left the facility to see the game with some friends. When they returned after the game and tried to enter the gate code, they were all ROBBED AT GUNPOINT, and they tried to pull my elderly aunt and her elderly friend out of the car, when the criminals realized that wasn’t going to be possible, they stole their purses, phones, wallets. At a minimum, when being responsible for the elderly and your employees, you need to have security at the gate and cameras! For my aunt, being robbed at gunpoint and losing her phone, was the beginning of the end for her. You would think that they’d replace her phone, but no, family had to replace it with a landline at her expense.
6 days before my aunt died, her heart was crushed because she had to miss a VERY special occasion that she’d attended for 30+ years because she was dropped on the floor after telling a “caretaker” not to lift her without help, but to no avail.
Please place your love ones some place safer, cleaner, and a place that has compassion for their residents.
My client recently moved to Oakland Heights. His experience so far has been incredible. He is receiving such detailed and attentive care, the staff are so warm, and the facilities and grounds are very high-quality. My client is really enjoying the rich schedule of activities already. And I have noticed each time I visit that the residents do not sit alone in their rooms – they really make use of the many well-appointed living spaces to gather or simply relax. Shout-out to Community Relations Director Amber Harris who gave us a great tour when my client was feeling a little reticent about moving, explained everything so clearly and patiently, and went above and beyond to get the nuts and bolts done so my client could move in. Can I say, he is so happy and he loves it!
A warm and comfortable community feel. The tour was impressive.
