Hi to all reading this.this is not a review but rather a view into the past. This premises belonged to a retired US Marine Captain (Captain Al Mikalow) who established the School in the sixties (I stand under correction). I attended the deep sea divers course in 1985/6. and worked as a commercial diver for many years. What a surprise to see what happened with the old diving training centre/school.
Solidarity and solitude -that’s the realization of what Phoenix Commons is. Can’t believe my good fortune to have stumbled upon this amazing place! Having observed my mother-in-law’s extensive search in the Philly are in ’80 to find her final-residence and how delighted she was once she found it I knew that decades later I’d make the same effort. But I’d never imagined the delight of living in my own brand-new condo anchored in a community of vibrant Third-agers. It’s that community which continues to make all the difference in my quality of life.
Great idea for older folks, low maintenance condos, lots of social opportunities. Gym, hot tub, place for your bike and kayak. I loved it and can’t wait to make the change.
