  1. Eternally grateful to Mirador for the experience of well managed care while our mom recovered from surgery. We are going home after rehabilitation. The team of experts makes it all happen from her nutrition, activities of daily living, personal care, medications, and most importantly safety. Mom regained her weight and strength. Mirador you are family and miracles happen at Mirador everyday🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  2. Thank you so much to everyone at Mirador for helping our mom accomplish each hurdle of her journey through recovery from surgery. You truly make a difference for her and the entire family as a unit. Your team is exceptional and extraordinary!

  3. I’m compelled to share my experience regarding Mirador to caution others considering this facility for their loved ones. I see they have 4.5 star review but also noticed that most of those reviews are for past years. Here is what we just experienced.

As the son of my 93-year-old mother, who recently underwent surgery and spent two weeks in a local hospital for a broken femur, I entrusted Mirador with her care for rehabilitation. Unfortunately, our experience deviated drastically from our expectations.

Despite making significant progress at her previous facility, it was communicated to Mirador that the patient still required assistance to get in and out of bed and to the bathroom. She was not entirely self-mobile, with her biggest challenge being fear. We believed that with a month or two of assistance, we could help her overcome this fear, especially considering her better-than-expected healing progress. Despite the patient’s enthusiasm to continue her rehabilitation, Mirador failed to meet our expectations in several critical areas:

    • Lack of Proper Care: The level of care provided did not match our expectations, putting my mother’s well-being at risk.
    • Unmet Expectations: We were disappointed by the quality of care and support, which fell short of what is expected of a skilled facility.
    • Disappointment: The disparity between our expectations and the reality of care at Mirador was deeply disappointing.

Moreover, within the first 72 hours of my mother’s admission, distressing incidents of neglect, abandonment, and mistreatment occurred:

    • Failure to administer medication as prescribed.
    • Delayed responses to requests for assistance, leading to soiling and wetting incidents.
    • Inadequate provision of suitable food despite dietary restrictions
    • Leaving the patient unassisted in a wheelchair in the bathroom and room for prolonged periods, risking injury.

These lapses deeply impacted my mother’s health and well-being, instilling fear of further mistreatment and reprisals. The lack of compassion and willingness to help those in need was devastating to her mental health and significantly hindered her progress, especially considering the significant strides she had made at a previous facility.

In my opinion, this facility has an established pattern of isolating, mistreatment, depriving, and instilling fear into their patients.
Furthermore, even after all these issues were brought to their attention and we removed her from the facility, Mirador did not once do a follow up.

The lack of communication and accountability from Mirador’s management exacerbates our concerns.

You have been warned. Given the stringent laws against litigation regarding facilities like this in Texas, it’s disheartening to think they may continue their practices unchecked.
