Located in a peaceful, country-like setting in Northern California, Sierra Oaks supports residents’ individuality and independence while offering assistance with daily activities and specialized memory care.
Sierra Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support for seniors with memory impairments.
My husband moved in 3 weeks ago. I was so nervous about the move. Everyone involved in the move in process were great. He is settling in and loves the care staff. The care is awesome, i made the right choice.
I love this place. My dad was able to live the last two years of his life here and, I am so glad he did. The staff truly cares. What a great staff. Before my dad lived at Sierra Oaks he lived at Oakmont of Orange. If you don’t know, Oakmont is about the most expensive memory care place that you can live. There is nothing wrong with Oakmont except they are VERY expensive. In hindsight, I would say Sierra Oaks was even better than Oakmont. (And a lot less expensive.) All memory care requires that the residents are locked in. This isn’t so much fun for residents. However, Sierra Oaks felt much less like prison. My dad could go out the front door with no restriction. (There is still a gated area around the building.) Occasionally, my dad was taken by staff outside the gated area to a wilderness area. When my dad first moved to Sierra Oaks, I thought maybe the staff was only being nice when our family was looking. However, we visited my dad often. I can say with certainty that they do a good job and they really care.
Great place for my GMA! She loves it and she loves the food!
Our names are Dennis and Jeannie Garton. We would like you to know our story, and why we have chosen Sierra Oaks to help us with my mother.
We had a 10am appointment with Kealey Schafer on Wednesday March 27 to tour your facility, for possible placement of my mom Neitta Day. When we arrived, she was standing outside waiting on us. (That was the first selling point in our book.) We didn’t have to wait for her. She was ready for us! She immediately started the tour, we all three felt very welcomed and wanted. We have toured other places and have never felt as welcomed or wanted as we did here.
Kealy continued with the tour of all the different rooms and things that mom can do and be a part of. She answered all our questions and even helped my mom try to understand what is going on. She was with us for as long as we wanted or needed. She never once tried to rush us through the process.
On our way out we went through I think the day room where people were watching TV, and some were playing cards at a table. My mom stopped and interacted with the ladies at the table playing cards. I was so relieved to see that my mom actually fit in. That she could make friends and be a part of all of them. Once again Kealey let us have all the time we needed. Selling point #2.
Selling point #3 was the final one! We were not put in a room with a big huge conference table, with all of you on one side and us on the other and drilled with all kinds of questions. We were not ask about things mom does or doesn’t do! We were not required to pay at that very moment!!!
We are very impressed with how clean everything is, even the clints are clean and very happy. To know that the cook has been there for 16 years is huge to us. That means someone is doing something right. I have taken care of my mom for 8 years. I have never been willing to leave my mom anywhere. I am willing to leave her in your care. This is all because of Kealey, she is like an angel in disguise. I am so thankful it was Kealey that met us that Wednesday morning. In our opinion you are very lucky to have Kealey as an employee. She goes way beyond her duties to make us all feel welcomed and wanted. She has stayed in touch with us, so we know where we are in the process. That has helped us immensely, it has reassured us we are in the right place.
I would also like to volunteer to do a class to help someone learn to crochet, knit or embroider. I would be willing to help as much as you want me to!
Thank you
Dennis and Jeannie
We are so excited to bring mom and leave her for 14 days! I know this is respite care, at this time that is all we can afford.
Excellent staff, extremely clean, and my mom is well taken care of.
