Suffolk County, home to the largest population of veterans in New York State, is committed to providing a comprehensive range of services to those who have served, ensuring they receive the support they need in areas such as education, health, employment, and housing.
The Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency is dedicated to assisting veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces, along with their dependents and survivors, in accessing their entitled benefits and services.

This is a very valuable resource for veterans. Have been very helpful in filing claims and accessing many of the benefits I am entitled to as veteran. The staff is friendly, helpful and responsive.
Very knowledgeable and thorough staff. These VSO’s guided me through the claims process start to finish. Keep up the great work!
They helped me submit a claim for disability. The VA gave me a 10% rating for hearing loss. I submitted a claim for arthritis, which I was diagnosed with during basic. The VA denied the claim. This happened about a month ago. When I’ve tried to reach out to the guy that helped me, I can’t get in touch with him. Left several with the receptionist and NEVER get a call back. Very disappointed in their service.
Well, I was contacted by Brian, a supervisor, he took over my case and is resubmitting my claim. It seems the receptionist in Hauppauge just doesn’t get our messages to the people we need to talk to. County big shots need to fix this. We deserve better service from these county employees.
If you are looking for help to file your claim or get answers on a claim you filed, go elsewhere.
There seems to be only one guy running the show there now, and he is not only gruff and obnoxious, but incompetent as well. He will end up giving you wrong information and costing you time and money in the end. Then when you question him he will act like an A-hole and not have any answers for you . Most things you can do yourself online anyway.
Trust me, YouTube has a lot more answers and is far more professional than the meatball they have helping Vets there now. This place is a waste of taxpayer money.
