“Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at The Regency of Glen Cove for the exceptional care our Mom received there over the past ten months before her recent passing.
From the moment she arrived, the staff transformed what could have been a very challenging transition into a beautiful, supportive experience. This place is more than a “facility” – it truly became a home for our Mom. The staff’s compassion, patience, and kindness were always extraordinary…they treated our mother with the same love and respect one would imagine they show their own families. The team always went above and beyond to ensure Mom’s comfort and well-being. While there, despite her declining state due to advanced dementia, they made sure Mom engaged in activities and enjoyed delicious meals. She was always treated with the utmost dignity and respect.
This is an environment where a loved one can feel safe, valued and content. The personal touches made all of the difference. The professionalism and loving care Mom was shown gave our family true peace of mind. We are profoundly grateful for the blessing of The Regency at Glen Cove!”
The Peguillan Family
I moved my parents, 88 and 89, to the Regency from their home in Michigan three months ago and have been very happy with the decision.
This was not a sudden and hurried decision. We discussed the idea of their moving to assisted living near me for two or three years before acting upon it.
So I shopped around, visiting 6 or 7 similar communities near me. A few were closer to me, but I felt the Regency would be the best fit.
I’ve been very impressed so far.
The facilities are very nice, and the food is quite good,
but of course it’s really all about the staff.
That is the most important element of course.
The Regency staff are personable, friendly, and attentive,
and they definitely care a lot about the residents.
After only a handful of weeks I know many of them by name, and of course they know my parents’ names but many also know my name.
The director of the Regency has been very caring and responsive as my parents adjust to their new situation.
My father had to be in the hospital for 2 weeks shortly after arriving, and Stella deftly made some helpful adjustments for my Mom as well as for my Dad when he returned.
On their anniversary, she texted me to ask for a photo of them, even if just one from my phone. I was at a Dr.’s appointment with my Dad but was able to email her a photo. When we returned an hour and a half later there were already nicely made posters around the dining room and front desk celebrating the date with their photo.
They were brought flowers at dinner and the anniversary was announced to much applause. It was charming.
The wellness department is also great. They have been professional and efficient about managing a complicated mix of shifting prescriptions from different providers.
It would have been easy to confuse things but that did not happen.
Also I really appreciate the maintenance department.
They were very helpful on the move in and are quick to respond if a lamp needs to be replaced or a towel rack fixed.
John rewired the controller for my Dad’s power lift recliner when it stopped functioning. This was a chair we brought in, not part of the building’s facilities. So it was not his responsibility. But he was happy to do it. It was generous.
It seems to be the kind of thing that happens at the Regency.
I can’t say enough good things about the Regency. The staff are all wonderfully patient and caring and it stems from the strong leadership and kindness of the administration. It’s comforting to know that my Mom Lilian is safe and in good hands. Thank you all!
The staff or a the regency are the most attentive and loving people. The entire staff is involved in every resident’s care 24/7. I have only wonderful things to say about the care my mother, who is the oldest person living there at 103! They show her love and respect and all her needs are being met with the utmost care and understanding for all her needs. They have keep her happy and engaged, and meet every physical and emotional challenge with empathy and a depth of experience that is phenomenal. And they deal with family members with the same care. They there a party for my mother’s 103rd birthday attended by everyone there—truly a special event at a special place.
