Our father has been coming to The Senior Care place for close to two years. During that time, his Alzheimer’s disease has progressed. During every stage Helen and her staff have been compassionate, kind, and engaging. We have done our best to keep our father at home during this trying time and we would not have been able to do that for this long if it wasn’t for The Senior Care Place. Each day when we drop him off we know that he is cared for as if he was with us – we could not ask for more.
Very kind professional people.
Like being in your own home! Very personable, friendly caring people. You don’t feel like you’re just a number here.
I was looking for a day program for my father. He is in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s. I was also looking for a place that provided socialization, activity, cognitive exercises, was engaging and could offer a variety of services to make daily life easier for them both. Let me start with the lobby which was beautifully decorated with modern, comfortable furnishing, kind of Farmhouse chic. This area also has space to play games such as, checkers, cards, read, and put together puzzles. They also use this area for “music and dancing. This seems to be a favorite time for everyone There is a fully accessible snack station with a variety of items and drinks that the clients can help themselves to – and yes you are welcome to have a little something as well. They have a relaxation room with an aquarium, theatre room and have a mini golf course in their game room. They offer Physician PT/OT and SLP, and podiatrist services. They have exercise class, and a what’s in news today, how to solve the world’s problems ( follow them for more tips and advice) and other societal events There is a Registered Nurse who is able to provide medication administration and clinical oversight, in conjunction with the Physician. When I visited and with each subsequent time I have been there, I am able to walk in and talk with staff from the center at any time. They are very welcoming, give me updates and answer questions. They provide a schedule of events, and a weekly menu. They serve 3 meals a day and must say I was very impressed with the food venues. Breakfast is served on the” porch “with an appetizing menu of fruits yogurts, oatmeal, cereals, at times pancakes, waffles. They have catered meals from local restaurants (we are not talking Meals on Wheels here) these include Lancaster’s BBQ , Big Tinys’ , Lowes foods ,Publix and Fusion Bowl,- just to name a few . If you are running late in the evening, they have been known to fix a “boxed dinner” for both the client and spouse/ family member, so you don’t have to worry about dinner when you get home. My mother is a big fan of this option (😊) The staff are super friendly and very professional. They truly care about the people who come there. They learn what works and does not work for the client. They know favorite foods, games activities, the foster a home environment. They event they plan are above and beyond. They have had reptile visits , corn hole contests ,cookouts, had a boat tour on Lake Norman compliments of the Catawba Queen. If your loved one has a birthday- plan on a big party! If you just want to spend some time with them, so you could do that. Stop in, visit and hang out for a while- you will always be welcome. The atmosphere and rooms were awesome, very, very spacious, they were very handicap accessible, and ADA Compliant. They are pet friendly so bring your fur baby for a visit. They have such a wonderful interactive partnership with the community. They have local vendors and shops offer karate class ( 😊), poetry reading, upcoming they are planning to take part in the Senior Olympics in conjunction with The Charles Mack Senior Center (keep an eye out for team shirts) . I can’t tell you how happy we are to have found this center. The location is perfect for us They offer transportation if needed, and can accommodate a variety of levels of Care. My father loves going here. He asks every night” Am I going there tomorrow? ” He talks of them with such genuine affection “They like me there, they treat me like I am one of them” and practically jumps out of the car when my mom drops him off ( humm- maybe there is more to that.. ) . They give hugs and smiles all day. We and he could not be happier. I am so relieved and comforted each day he is there I know he is safe, he is having good time , his needs are met on every level and it is so therapeutic for all of us . They have experience in the field and in caring for patients and it shows in every aspect of their service , They don’t have clients, they have family coming each day and we love that about them
My dad loves and looks forward to going to The Senior Care Place Monday – Friday! This facility is very clean with the most beautiful decor. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and provides excellent patient-centered care to each person. If you and your loved one are looking for an adult daycare to act as an extended family, you will be very pleased with The Senior Care Place. Most important, Helen, Martha and Susan genuinely enjoy working with our geriatric population. I witnessed this first hand. What I love the most is the way that they communicate with my dad; he loves the warm hugs, field trips, healthy food, and new friends. You should tour this location. Trust me, you will be very HAPPY and so will your loved one!
