I am leaving this review on behalf of my parents.
This agency sent us a miracle by providing us with caretaker Radha. She has been tremendous with her professionalism and compassion and has helped more than words can possibly express.
Thanks to Abbe and the agency for making a great match!
The Key has been a wonderful partner in providing kind and reliable caregiving for our aging dad. Nick, our care manager, is a wonderfully professional and compassionate advocate for our dad. He’s responsive and an excellent listener. Living away from aging parents is difficult, but The Key provides us peace of mind.
The Key has supported the very fast transition for my mom who needed care as she becoming legally blind in a matter of weeks. Our care manager, Zaid, has gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. From our first meeting in my mother’s home where he asked thoughtful and thorough questions, to the following week where we honed in on caregivers and what personality types were best for my mom, he never wavered with his commitment to meet my mom’s and our needs well. I’m so grateful that we have found The Key and the impressive and compassionate crew of people who work there. I highly recommend They Key.
Our mother (81, cognitively with it) who had elective surgery used this company to assist as she recovered. For seven days we had four care providers for 24 hour care. One was very unprofessional, ate my mother’s food, left wrappers, and even asked for a cell phone charger. She called from the room to my mother saying to “holler” if she needed help. She was not able to assist my mom with her ice machine for inflammation. The other providers were empathetic and kind. They shared they did not receive extensive training but we felt they were more than competent and provided safe care. The other area of concern was billing. When we received our bill we were charged time and half for 12 hours and when we said we were not aware but had requested 8 hour shifts and were denied. They noted it was “ in the contract”. It would make sense to be a bit more transparent with patients by highlighting key areas such as this before care and possibly to a family member. There was an assumption of blame towards the patient instead of considering the patient. We feel there are very serious concerns about this business. We advise you to consider these points. Honest, transparent, and trained care should be the norm for older adults.
Deanne and Zaid were wonderful. Took the time to understand our needs.
