I am at a loss for words to describe the frustration and helplessness I’m feeling in this situation. My brother has been in a coma for two years and had been receiving horrible care at the Alameda Health and Wellness Center. You would think that such a reputable location would treat its patients with the utmost respect, but unfortunately, that has not been the case for my brother and our family.
After noticing signs that my brother may have been physically mistreated, we decided to install a camera. What we witnessed in the footage was absolutely horrifying. The charge nurse, who oversees many others in the unit, is responsible for this abuse. The anger I feel is indescribable, but I know that it’s my right—and my responsibility—to advocate not just for my brother, but for all patients in similar conditions.
This nurse should never be allowed to work as a registered nurse again, and she must face serious consequences for her actions. No one should ever endure this kind of mistreatment, and I am determined to make sure she is held accountable.

The 4.2-star rating for this facility is misleading. Out of the two places my brother was transferred to, this one was by far the worst. Management seems to cover up the issues.

I strongly encourage others to remove their loved ones from here, just as we did. Since leaving, my brother has been doing amazingly well. He was taken off the ventilator, despite one of the respiratory supervisors saying he never would. It’s frustrating that someone would make such a definitive statement. Only God truly knows what’s best.
