My experience in this place was terrible.. My first visit to visit my love one and I hated to leave. Staff is very unprofessional. Facility was very unsanitary. I walked the whole facility and I was never asked a question not 1 question of who I was and what I needed. Whenever I asked a question every member I asked stated they were new.. Patients were in the dining facility for hours were never served a snack a drink or anything. When asked about a feeding The nurse stated she was going to clean the feeding tube area and then these unskilled nurses punctured the feeding tube.. the charge nurse left for over 2 hours and yes I know how long because she left when we arrived. Another staff member an aide, left and came back with hair dye. Blew my mind!!! I asked the staff for masks nobody knew anything. I can go on and on but YES my family and I will be trying to get family member out of this facility. Never have I seen anything like this before in a nursing facility
Bay Ridge is a wonderful facility for your loved one! Everyone that works there really cares about all the residents!
My family and I ( the Blunson’s “ came to visit our uncle Curry Blunson, and what we discovered was absolute filth,The staff looks like they all on drugs, no one could answer any question. There was vomit on the side of the bed that the nurse stated had been there, she was about to clean it but forgot. The aide on the cart wasn’t pleasant at all when asked for guidance. None of the staff was professional at any point of contact. Charge nurse Darcy i believe, wasn’t professional at all when asking about care of our loved one. Curry roommate was complaining that he haven’t talked or visited with a nurse since he arrived 48 hours ago,This facility does not received any stars
*WARNING* Do not send your loved ones here! Don’t do it! You’ll regret it! They must have friends & family submitting 5 star reviews because there is no way this place could even manage 1 star. Even the residents would share what a horrible place it is!
I really trusted this facility and its staff to care for my mother. They didn’t care! We had several meetings and phone calls concerning my mother’s well being but I feel it was never taken to heart. I paid a friend out of my pocket to go daily to check on her and make sure my mother would eat and drink because I was not convinced the staff was being patient in feeding and hydrating my mother who was bed ridden.
Many events happened with my mother including a massive diaper rash on her bottom that spread to her front part. I believe she did not receive the adequate care for her wound. I received a phone call that she had passed away and so I rushed there. She just lay there, already cool to the touch, with a bedsore on the bottom of her foot that was oozing and stuck to the sheet!
Not one single staff member came to give their condolences, ask if we needed anything or came to see us. Just 1 aid told my daughter “I’m sorry” but not to me. Not 1 person!!! I was there 2 hours while the police completed their report and even the police were in shock that no one came to pay their respects! My dog died last year and the whole team paid their respects and sent me flowers! And it’s been 2 weeks and NO ONE from that facility has called me to say I’m sorry for your loss!
But I’m not done with this facility. I will get the answers I need for closure. They did my mom wrong and though she is gone she still has a voice through me and my entire family! Lucky for my mom she has a huge family and they all want answers!
Believe me, there is so much more to share but I’m saving it.
And if this God forsaken facility is reading this, DO NOT CONTACT ME! Shame on all of you.
These poor residents deserve better! A facility with more staff and people who care.
I miss my mother terribly but at the same time I feel relieved she is no longer at their mercy.
I find this place to be joyful when I am there I see a concerned staff and the patients seem happy.
