The entire staff at Willow Towers are competent, kind and supportive! My father is under the greatest care with the Executive Director Nora O’Brien all all who attend to his needs – we are grateful and beyond pleased.
The Phoenix Program at Willow Towers provides a caring and interactive environment for residents who are suffering with Alzheimer’s and dementia. My sister began her residency at Willow Towers in Assisted Living; however, fifteen months later it was determined that a move to the third floor Memory Care Unit would be in Marie’s best interest. And so, Alice Feintuch, the Care Manager at the time, welcomed Marie to her new home. And home it was for the next four years, providing Marie with a safe living situation, engaging daily activities and the personnel trained to attend to her physical, medical, nutritional and emotional needs. Dementia robbed my sister of her ability to verbalize her thoughts. Therefore, it was particularly impressive to witness the dedication of the staff as they tried to understand what Marie was thinking or wanting. Also notable was their loving concern for Marie during the last months of her life when she transitioned into Hospice Care. It was during this period that I had the good fortune of interacting with the current Care Manager, Micki Buchanan, who kept me informed of my sister’s condition and answered all my many questions.
Another positive aspect of life on the third floor at Willow Towers is that all staff members address each resident by his or her first name. I witnessed this every time I visited, noting to myself that this personalization was a good thing. Interestingly, it enabled me to engage in conversation with some of the other residents while spending time with my sister. The residents, groomed and well-dressed, are treated with respect and dignity.

I had a great experience with everyone that was involved at both United Hebrew and at Willow Towers from the initial move in to the constant care that my uncle received during his time there. Micki Buchanan was always there and the extra effort that the staff does to try to make each day interesting is to be commended. This is not an easy job one which I could not do day in and day out. Thank you to everyone at Willow Towers for making me and my uncle feel important!
My mother lived in Willow Towers for 28 months. She was cared for in a way that I would describe as professionally competent, humane and friendly. On weekly visits – and sometimes more often – I had ample opportunity to observe interactions between WT staff and residents. It was clear that residents were treated with respect and in a way that anyone would want an elderly family member to be treated. I certainly did and, aside from an occasional quibble, had no complaints.
In an assisted living facility the aides have the most direct contact with residents and the most consistently intimate contact. Obviously, I did not observe certain kinds of interactions between my mother and the aides. But I saw enough, and spoke to my mother enough, to be confident that the hands-on care was good. I also want to mention the nursing staff and the house physician, who provided first-rate care.
When my mother entered WT for a tryout period, we were told that management strove to run an assisted living facility that provided excellent care but also one in which the atmosphere was friendly and disruptive social cliques were discouraged. They have succeeded.
I am happy we chose Willow Towers for my mother and recommend it without reservation
