  1. My grandmother was sent here after a fall resulting in a couple broken bones. We didn’t have a choice on where she went due to some other family emergencies and situations.

I will start with the good because there was some good things here…. SOME… good things, not many. These good points are the only reason there’s a second star in my review.

Most of the staff working with the residents/patients were very friendly and helpful. A few were stand off-ish but not many. The physical therapy staff was especially good. They were very good at explaining the exercises and were really positive about all of it. My grandma was fed, her bed was clean, the food seemed good, and the outside area out front was well maintained.

    Now for the bad.
The staff at the front desk were nice enough but each time I went to visit my grandma, they either told me she wasn’t a patient at their facility or they gave me a visitor pass for a room that was not her’s. I would have to double check she was not moved or argue that no, my grandma was indeed in their facility. A few times there was a very young employee left alone to manage the front desk aand was far too overwhelmed to be working alone.

They have 4 people to a room. The rooms are so small there isn’t room for more than one person to visit each person in the room and they would have to stand because with a food tray and a cabinet for their belongings there was absolutely no room for a chair. Getting a wheel chair next to her bed was a circus act for the nurses. The space between the foot of the beds on the left wall and the beds on the right wall was only wide enough for a wheel chair to pass through… barely. My grandma was in a corner without even a window with only curtains to block out the complaining room mates. It was a dark cave of a room with bland, drab, sad colors. She was so unhappy there. There was often elderly people in wheel chairs just sitting along the halls doing nothing, seemed sad. The place did seem clean but outdated and run down once you’re inside and past the lobby/front desk. Also, while visiting her, I was told that I could sit in the facility’s wheelchair that was still sitting there from bringing her back from physical therapy. As said above, there are no chairs and since I had been there an hour already (more details about this ridiculous wait to talk to someone in charge below) I went ahead and sat down. Their wheel chair had a very sharp corner of the frame near my outer thigh amd it ripped a hole in my pants. Imagine the skin of an elderly person on such a thing…

I called them multiple times trying to talk to a case working/social worker about her options and other details. They were either not there, too busy to talk to me, or never returned my calls/messages. I went in in person to talk to someone and was told the person I needed to talk to was on the phone. I was told they would come talk to me in my grandma’s room when they were done and gave them my phone number as well. I visited with my grandma for 2 hours and finally went to the front to figure out what was going on. The person was STILL on the phone. I was told “it will be a little bit”. When asked what “a little bit” meant, they told me 3 hours. I was expected to wait 5 hours to talk to someone. No. I should have been told/asked to make an appointment. I got an appointment the following day. Through all of this they knew all the details about the situation. At no time did they say they couldn’t talk to me. They waited for me to go there in person for this meeting I had jumped through hoops to get to tell me they didn’t have permission to discuss my grandma’s info with me and asking my grandma herself, an adult woman of sound mind, if they could talk to me was apparently not an option. Communication here is complete and utter garbage. Nothing but a massive dumpster fire of stupidity.

I will make sure none of my loved ones will go here.
