Martyring “Judy” medrano was excellent. She took initiative to do laundry cleaning etc without us asking. She anticipated my needs and was always there to help. We will miss her but I’m now able to do more on my own on my way to recovery. Visiting angels was very flexible in schedule changes and my request for certain caregivers
We decided to bring my father home with Hospice care on Monday, July 29th. Charles from Visiting Angels was there with my brother and me as we waited for the hospital transport to bring our father home. There were several things I need to have (chucks, diapers, etc.) and I had no idea what to do. Luckily, Charles knew exactly what I needed. We put together a quick list and I was off to get the needed supplies. By the time I got back, Charles had my father all settled in. He was absolutely wonderful! I would have struggled getting through that first day (and the subsequent days) without his support. He would talk with me, pray with me, and encourage me. In the evenings, Della, was the caregiver who was with me the most. From the moment she walked in the door, I felt like I had known her for years. She was so kind to my father and showed so much empathy and compassion. Three other caregivers (Dilcy, Mary and JC) filled in when Charles and Della weren’t available. They were all amazing! These caregivers were there with me for the last days of my father’s life, and I will forever be grateful for the physical and emotional support they offered. It’s because of them that my father was able to spend his last days exactly where he wanted to be…in his home, looking over the lake. I could not have done it without the “angels on earth” from Visiting Angels. Thank you all!
My mom is 92 years old and requires 24/7 care. From the first visit with Cathy at Encompass Health, we felt confident Cathy would provide the best caregivers to match my mom’s personality and health challenges with dementia, not to mention she is always quickly responsive when we reach out with questions or requests. We have some stellar caregivers who go beyond what is an already challenging role to make sure my mom is getting the quality care she needs. The caregivers are open to answering our questions, taking feedback, and communicating observations, not just their concerns but “wins” with my mom as well. They have also provided ideas to enhance my mom’s care. They have accomplished tasks with my mom that my sister and I have not been able to accomplish on our own. We are grateful for the quality care Visiting Angels is providing that is allowing us to keep my mom safe and secure at home.
