Services are provided throughout Bay County to elderly, disabled and disadvantaged individuals who need assistance to maintain their independence, health and quality of life.
Bay County Council on Aging is a private, non-profit 501(c) (3) corporation funded through federal and state grants received from State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs, State of Florida Department of Commerce, Advantage Aging Solutions, Agency for Health Care Administration (License #5950) and from local funds received from United Way, Bay County Commission, local churches, civic groups, community organizations, private businesses and individual donors.
My elderly mother Charlotte, a long standing member of Bay County Council on Aging Frankfort Ave (and in Lynn Haven before a hurricane destroyed it), for went for the senior lunch twice a week for many years, always paying the dollar fee. She went there to primarily to socialize with others. However, 2 weeks ago before Thanksgiving lunch a few people treated her awfully, leaving her feeling very insulted. Crying and hardly able to drive home, she vowed to never return. She turned 95 yrs old on Nov 30, 2024. No one called her, sent a card. is this an honorable way for your agency to treat one of your oldest members who for many years always donated $, food, goods to support your activities? She is beyond feeling upset & hurt.
She has no idea that her daughter is writing this post. However, please know that she is avoiding your elderly holiday events because of the insults voiced by some attendees of your agency’s luncheon, as well as your supervisors. As a result, she sits alone in her home…Happy holidays (sarcastically typed).

Great place. They offer a number of programs to help seniors!
They are doing great work with the Brain Health. More people should check it out
