We moved my 90 year old mother to Arbor House in September, when she was no longer capable of independent living. It was difficult for her at first, after all when a person experiences this type of change in their life there is an adjustment period. The staff treat her with kindness and with great respect. They are also very attentive to all of her needs. The administration staff are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Arbor House to anyone who has reached that stage in their family members life.
I have had the best experience here at Arbor House for my dad. The staff is beyond helpful with any needs, including set up of physical therapy, and keeping me up to date on how he is doing. The kindness shown to my dad and to myself was a blessing. There have been so many activities for him to participate in and the home is very welcoming and warm to all. I am so thankful for the people who are here at the Arbor House for my family.
We are very thankful to have our mom reside at Arbor House in Waco. The staff is always courteous and very supportive in their level of care.
I can only give my perspective as an employee. With that said First thoughts come to mind are lovely fairly new modern home for the elderly. My co workers? The night shift gals,wonderful,skillfull,thoughtfull,hardworking,basically the back bone. From my observation & first hand knowledge,the 2nd shift is over run by 17-about 20 yrs old. They are on a locked unit with dementia residents for 8 hrs. They have no prior experience,no proper training,one didn’t even know how to let the bed rail down. They are unable to perform basic peri care. They do not know how to provide oral care(not 1 resident has a denture cup) They are Also in charge of passing medication( med del is legal in tx) like narcotics. Here’s my issue if one cannot provide basic oral care properly to state standards,how in the world are they passing meds properly?For all my good,compassionate,love for the elderly fellow Aides please do not let the lack of professionalism from the current admin stop you from applying. Those residents need good folks to help in their daily care. They don’t deserve to have ppl that say they are for them but hire ppl that just walked out of a circus. The admin is terrible. The good staff are keeping it afloat
