Athene is located next door to Francis Village in Kirkland and serves seniors over the age of 62 who earn 30-60% of area median income (AMI). The community features a range of amenities including a gathering space, community laundry facility, and fully accessible units.
Athene is a senior community offering 91 affordable apartments, with 20 apartments set aside for seniors exiting homelessness.
Not sure how the comments below got on here. I posted them on Next Door. on 12/31/2024 Imagine taped written information facing out a 6 or is it a 8% rent increase. They have had to reissue the notice 5 times because it has so many errors. It appears it is 8% . These poor seniors are already rent burdened. they het a 2.5 COLA but Imagine raises the rent 8%! Then the new property management company is so far behind in annual tenant reviews, another form a 30 day vacate (eviction) is addressed tenant of each unit stating they are over due for their review and they have 30 days to come in to the office and complete it or eviction proceeding will begin if they do not vacate at the 30th day. Not a nice way to treat the elderly tenants due to their business operations that causes them to not be able to keep up their work. I am at my wit’s end. All local goverment officials know their are serious issues but don’t feel they have the authority to let Imagine Housing clearly know it’s not acceptable. The Human Service Grant monry the city of Bellevue and Kirkland is just being wasted. So I will just post when tenants reach out to me.
Sent to me on 12/12/2024 Squatters at Athene
“They are moving into vacant apartments. I have 1 noisy one above me. ###### has a noisy one above her and ####### also has a noisy one above him. The squatters obviously got keys from previous tenants. I have told our new Indigo managers about the squatter above me and said the best solution is to change the lock. That was last week. Apparently they have done nothing. Heard him again for 2 hours this morning. I am trying to impress on management that despite being unfair to paying residents, squatters can cause damage to apartments that Imagine will have to pay for. I think that is all they would worry about, not the safety of residents.
#####, who lives here, wants to know who in King County will help us. I said we have tried to get help, but no one ever does anything. You have been our most vocal supporter.
I’m pretty much screwed. How did I end up here?!!
I wish I could find a tiny house I could afford.”
These owners Imagine Housing are supported by our tax dollars could we keep the elderly safe? Indigo has security cameras they know who is entering “vacant” units.
This place is frightening. The lack of on-site security means the front door may as well be unlocked. Drug dealers do, in point of fact, deliver.
Staff are told not to interact or intervene.
We had 7 different office managers, 7 different maintenance workers, and 7 different casemanagers
An awful experience.
I was visiting my grandma here and i ran into this guy in the hallway calling himself blade. He seemed to be under the influence and was having a party with his friends. It was like 10pm so it was weird this guy was in the complex. I asked him what he was doing there and he said he lived there and pointed to his apartment. I thought you have to be 62 to live there. I asked him about it and he told me to figure it out and check the streamlabs whatever that means.
