They allowed my great niece to make decisions and no where on my sister paperwork was there a name of a daughter. They moved my sister to a different room and the next morning I walked past a room with a body on the floor. When I talked to the nurse she said that she was sorry. Oh I forgot to say that the aid and Fire department was on site. Come to find out they IGNORED my sister order of Do Not Attempt Resuscitation ( DNAR) It was on the bed. They had my sister body on the floor with stuff in her mouth. She weighed maybe 90lb. I will never forget how they treated my sister last hour, I will cannot stop seeing her body covered on that cold floor. I cannot say she had a peaceful death Maybe if I had gotten there earlier I could have stopped them. I did not and they did her wrong.
The CNAs are argumentative and some are down right lazy. I have continually been ignored even when my call light is on. Sometimes waiting for 2 hours to see a Nurse. Then they act like they have better things to do then to help you. The Nurses don’t listen to what you have to say, they leave the room while you are still talking, if you ask them to please wait I wasn’t finished, they tell you they are busy and will come back later, but they never come back.I have been in Avamere for about a month and I have hated almost every day here. Please don’t bring your loved ones here they will be mistreated or just ignored. Sad but true.
My mom has barely been there a week and she already wants to leave. While she said most of the the day time CNA’s/nurses are kind and amazing, some of the night CNA’s are extremely rude, refuse to do simple things that are their jobs, ignore he call light for hours, don’t give her her medication on time causing her extreme pain, will walk past her room/call light and ignore her for hours, and are rough and hurt her because they are annoyed that they have to change her briefs. She called the front desk for help because the aids were not helping her and the woman hung up on her. one aid dropped the battery out the remote and didn’t put it back so she asked another aid to get it and the aid was extremely rude. I could keep going on about all the issues my mom has had with the night CNA’s. I use to be a CNA in shoreline and Ballard so I know that this is not ok. I have called to talk to the director twice with no call back.
Shout out to the amazing cooks at shoreline who do a spectacular job 🩷
