It is a harmonious blend of comfort, care, and independence, offering a range of living options that includes a Skilled Nursing Facility, Assisted Living Facility, and Independent Housing.
Blue Palms Senior Living Community is an exquisite campus in a beautiful neighborhood on 28 acres in DeLand, Florida.
I have been here going 7 years now. I love the smallness of the community in that we know and care about each other. It’s like “small town” living. The staff are very kind and friendly. I’ll be the first to admit during the change over things were chaotic and uncertain. Changes are being made now for the better. More . staff have been hired, an excutive chef is doing a fantastic job, the maintenance dept has improved greatly and monthly activities are improving.
Upate:
Things improved for about four months after the take over. I was optimistic that it would continue. Instead one year later things overall have been deteriorating. There is a huge turnover of staff, poor communication between staff and residents, and poor maintenance service. Sadly I must change my rating to 2 stars. I live in independent housing so I cannot speak to assistant living or nursing home care.
UPDATE: My Father has been without AC for almost 3 days they have so many rooms that no one occupies because most people don’t want to pay $2,000 a month. So they could have given him a new air conditioner already. You people should be completely ashamed yourselves. July 25,2024
I will never stop speaking the truth about you👹
CLEAN, but…
Management is awful.
This just changed names! It was GOOD SAMARITAN.
Without warning rent raised $250 when the switch was made. Now, because it’s Blue Palms 🌴 the GOOD has been forsaken. The front desk knows ZERO.
The garbage isn’t picked up on a regular basis even though it’s THEIR responsibility. Many have moved out.
They provide free direct TV, lines were so old and unkempt wh?en it rained there was no service. It rains a lot here it’s Florida.
I’m amazed and disgusted by this place. I’ve never seen a place NOT dedicated to taking care of the RESIDENTS who are the reason they have a PAYCHECK.
I will continue by WORD OF MOUTH to share these FACTS. That’s a promise✌️
HOW DARE YOU make it difficult for these aging and elderly folks have no other choice than to move.
As far as i’m concerned, this is a form of elder abuse👈
I have refered many seniors to the facility and deeply regret having done so. While the price is still reasonable, the amenities promised during admission and intake have beed gradually dwindling. Thank God, a quite rude nurse was recently replaced! Now, my friends tell me that the Chaplain has been terminated, obviously the administration doesn’t understand the importance of spiritual support at this stage of life. The Chief Administrator had the audacity to ask the Chaplain to volunteer his time!!! Imagine the importance placed on the emotional well-being of the residents! My attempts to contact Mr. Ben Fried, the COO, have been useless. What services are they cutting next in their greed stupor. Of course, after a senior moves in, the administrators can do practically anything and seldom move out! I am pleading to anyone who has a loved one in a local care facility to fight for our elderly self esteem and wellness. We can be the next victim.
The assisted living staff is amazing, my dad is a resident for 5 years, we are very pleased with all services and Madeline the head nurse goes up and beyond what is necessary to help us and we appreciate her and the staff so much!
