Tengo un amigo ahà los pacientes se les muere por mala antencion y maltrato no los cuidan como corresponde no les dan de comer como se debe
I never thought I would write a positive review about a nursing home. But, the care my mother has received at Brookwood Gardens deserves recognition. Recently, I had lunch with my mother at the facility and participated with her in the activities like dominoes and bingo. While we played, the occupational therapist came and sat by her through a few games, then gently told her’ one last game because I came to take you to therapy, and I know how much you enjoy playing’. Afterwards, she walked us back to the activities area and spent quite some time talking about my mother’s history and background, and then thanked me for sharing the information, While we waited for lunch, the psychiatric doctor came by and did a quick, informal and friendly assessment. Later, one of the HHAs that attend to the patients during their activities offered to take a photo of my mother and I and she forwarded it to me. When I thanked her, she offered to send more photos she already had. When I received them, I was able to see the spontaneous and sincere affection she evidenced in those photos, and just the fact that she wanted to take them said it all. My mother’s hair is always brushed, and she is dressed with care and dignity in outfits that match. The nursing care is outstanding, and they give attention to any medical issue that arises, big or small. The administration, billing department, HHAs, reception and all the staff there deserve mention for their contribution as well.
Absolutely awful! This place does not tend to their patients. They force able bodied people to be in diapers and wheelchairs. Will not allow them to use a bathroom, instead put them in diapers. They lose personal belongings all the time. We have had to constantly purchase new clothing and blankets for our family because they will not return the items. If the patient is ill, they do not understand illness, instead, call for a psychological evaluation to be done, not understanding that elderly people have behavior modifications when they have infections. My family was sent out on 2 psych treatments because of his behavior when he had infections. Upon the second call for him to be transported, the EMS driver decided to transport to a hospital because his vitals were unstable, oxygen and blood sugar and heart rate were all low. Each time that he was sent out and returned to the facility, his belongings were packed up and could not be found. They then provide him with someone else’s clothes and blankets. He is always cold and they would not provide him warmth. They have lost my family members eye classes. They would not assist him in putting in his teeth for eating. He was often sleeping because they wanted him sedated. Upon the return of some of his clothes after being in the hospital for two weeks, the clothes are FILTHY! The nurses and CNA’s would take care of their own needs before the patients, ignoring their needs most of the time. Many times, I would hear patients calling for help and no one would tend to them. The facility itself is very depressing with very old lighting, nothing cheery about this place at all. It was enough for me to want to leave and cry.
