Wasn’t going to review but I just wanted to let everyone know that this place does not care about your loved one they may look at you in the face and say they will be in good hands but they are not the beginning that we would go you could smell the stench of poop thing didn’t go to good with our mother there and aps had to get involved and that’s when it didn’t smell any more my love one got there on 1/15 by the 24th she ended up in the er with a bad case of pneumonia and rvc and in ccu and to top it off they had dropped my mother twice knowing she had to be hoyer lifted and they didn’t care of her diet (renal dialysis) would give her up to 3 cup of coffee when we let them know she can’t drink much coffee only 8 oz a day. Anywho all i can say just because they pushed and pushed for her to be in nursing home and we went based of of the review (4.0) if only we could turn back time I would and not get her admitted to this place
My mother is very happy at Buena Vida. They are extremely responsive to her needs and are very transparent with her treatment. The food is very tasty…which is a big plus! I would highly recommend.
I personally have not been to this place. I have an Aunt there and talk to her often and when I do talk to her she always has bad things to say. She is supposed to be on a diabetic diet but they haven’t given her that. The food is horrible and doesn’t have normal names as to what they are eating. If she’s lucky she will get a shower twice a week. She prefers a daily shower and yet they don’t do that. The help talks in Spanish in front of the patients so that they won’t understand them. If the nurses or others come into the room sometimes they ask if they need anything and other times they just look in and leave. If you do tell them you need something they might bring it to you or an explanation of why they can’t but most times it’s ignored. I can’t imagine why anyone would treat the elderly like this place does. Why do the elderly need to live the last of their years with horrible treatment? If I could move her I would but unfortunately I can’t because it’s not my decision. The decision rest with her Son. Don’t put your loved ones in this place!
I was a previous Department Head for this facility and out of my experiences in working in nursing home facilities I would 100% recommend this facility for even my own loved one. The Administrator has an abundance of knowledge and many many years of experience in nursing home facilities. The HR Director is fair and does her job in a professional manner. The BOM is also very knowledgable in her field and works hard to support the resident’s finances and advocate for them. I had never been a fan of the thought of putting a loved one in a facility however Buena Vida would be my choice as I know first hand the quality of care provided.
