  1. Canterfield of Franklin is in my opinion, the best assisted living community in Williamson County. The leadership and staff are top notch and truly care about our loved ones living there. Great activities and field trips, beautifully kept facility and outdoor landscaping, and the convenience of having amenities such in-house physical therapy and devotion times are a few of the things my loved one enjoys. Thank you especially to Brad Hamilton, the executive director, who isn’t just someone with a title — he is in the trenches with all of his team there and we so appreciate him!

  2. Feels good to be a part of an amazing team who truly love what they do🤍 Very proud to call Canterfield my home. Almost 10 years in healthcare and I’ve found where I belong! 🙏🏼

  3. What started out as a promising, safe environment for our grandmother has transformed into an unsafe, poorly managed facility that needs immediate attention and support. I have witnessed the degradation of the facility over the last couple of years and try to support our family and her friends the best we can. It is time for leadership and ownership to step up, address letters, calls and posts for help.

    The good and potential.
The location is great and close to the interstate and communities of Franklin/Brentwood. Building is newer. Our Grandmother was one of the first to move in and on the 2nd floor. Residents are forming friendships and appear to get along. At first, the environment was positive, and residents felt cared for, secure and safe. With proper attention they could get back there.

    The bad and opportunities.
Residents do not feel safe or secure.
A worker broke into our grandmother’s room, stole her check book and wrote multiple counterfeit checks. This worker had a master key. Those in charge were slow to react and pushed back when we involved law enforcement. The staff member was eventually arrested and charged but with little support from Canterfield leadership.

Anyone can walk in the front door and go to rooms. On multiple occasions when bringing our grandmother back we walked her in, up to her room and back out without seeing any staff members. The doors were not locked and could be pulled open. When the used to lock them, it was impossible to get an attendant or support to get back into the building. We recommended keypad, key check in and out and asked for a number to call to get someone to support. None of these things have occurred.

Additional concerns were brought up that I do not want to publish. A letter from our attorney was sent and received with no action or response to date.

Residents have concerns with staffing levels and medical care.
Grandmother was not checked on for over 5 days nor could we get the staff to get us in touch for over 24 hours while quarantined for COVID-19.

Multiple instances of medication not being administered at the appropriate time amongst most residents.

Facility did not have any COVID-19 Tests for residents or visitors and guests. Attempted to refuse resident requests to leave the facility.

Poor communication around visiting medical professionals or appointments. No notification about podiatrist visiting recently.
Residents have concerns around service, food and overall cleanliness of the facility.

The carpet is not clean. Nor has the carpet in our grandmother’s room been shampooed yet. After several requests and offers to do so ourselves which were refused.

Coffee and beverages are not served. The residents, many challenged with mobility, must get up and serve themselves.
Kitchen staff has turned over frequently. Food quality and portions decreasing day over day. Slice of roast beef is not considered a steak in most places.

There are multiple more issues and concerns. Many of which have been included in the above-mentioned letter that was sent, without reply.

If there are not immediate changes, we will be forced to transition our loved ones to a better, safer and more caring facility.

I cannot in good conscious recommend Canterfield Franklin in the current state.

I look forward to discussions with the leadership/ownership and a response to the original concerns. We will support making positive change as it is what our elder family members deserve.

*** Left voice messages with no return call. Empowered the residents to share my number with the leadership team as the stated they would like to speak with me. 3 weeks with no contact.
