Our greatest success is the ability to help patients recover and discharge back to home or to a lower level of care. Our staff provides 24-hour-a-day nursing care and supervision to our patients, assisting with activities of daily living and promoting patient-centered activities for well-being.
Castle Manor is a 99-bed skilled nursing facility focusing primarily on post-hospitalization transitional care.
CNA staff is really great here. Kind and attentive. The food is good.
My name is Russel Blake. My Dad, Alexander Blake is both formerly and currently a guest in Castle Manor.
Given the diligence of care his age of 98 years requires, I felt after spending a week in observance of said care, I will make aware to the public of what I have witnessed.
In knowing there are multiple components and modalities of care and an equally diverse staff of individuals employing their expertise in such care, I was thoroughly impressed from day one with every facet of therapeutic care and genuine concern my dad was receiving.
From the diligence of cleaning staff to the attentive CNA’s. The vigilant RN’s to the ever so patient Occupational and Physical Therapists. The Social Worker Regina to the front door receptionists who always greeted me with a warm welcome and a smile.
You have a team you can genuinely be very proud of as my dad, in each time I spoke with him affirmed that everyone is treating him with professionalism, respect and like a beloved member of the Castle Manor family.
I would like to single out Case Mgr. Nancy Ruiz who has gone the extra mile. I live in Baltimore County, Maryland and my brother lives in New York City.
Nancy saw to it that we were inclusive in the family meetings by phone as well as took the time to articulate and explain in great detail, the various options available to my dad’s post rehab care.
She also took the quality time to stop by my dad’s room every so often to share her warm smile and any updated information pertaining to his care and subsequent discharge.
As challenging as it was/is to see my dad in his current condition, the week was mitigated that much easier by meeting Nancy in person and seeing firsthand her professionalism, genuine kindness and emotional warmth towards my dad.
Physical therapists Rafi and Mervyn. RN Jim and CNA Claudia were also exceptional in their expertise, patience and compassion (my apologies as I wish I could have gotten all of their last names). Yet, I would have to nominate Nancy Ruiz as the Employee of the Week.
In closing, I imagine in your industry families are often distressed about their loved ones and not apt to reach out to you.
However, I believe you cannot know how well your team is doing, unless you’ve been told what they’ve done. So please accept this positive feedback in the spirit in which it is composed.
I just had to say thank you, Castle Manor, for your therapeutic expertise and continued success in all of your endeavors.
Best Regards,
Russel Blake
Castle Manor staff made my recovery possible by making me feel more like Family rather than a patient. I spent 2 weeks there and was helped whole heartedly by all staff. On the day I was admitted 1 staff right away greeted me with juice and cookies. Great therapy staff super helpful. Great activities center, staff made me laugh everyday. Nursing staff always greeted me in the mornings and wished me well for the night. I would recommend Castle Manor to everyone.
My dad was here the staff is nice, only problem is my dad got aspirated pneumonia because he couldn’t chew and never giving him regular food instead of pureed or liquid and they sent him to the wrong hospital Paradise valley or he ended up dying. Above his bed there was a sign saying that he had problems choking and swallowing.
So I don’t understand how still gave him regular food.
My dad was also a fall risk the first day I came in to see him the first day he was there he had just fell or slipped off the bed one of the two.
They say they can’t put guard rails.
This place would be better for people who can move around without assistance and can feed themselves. The only reason my dad was here was to strengthen his legs so he could go up and down our stairs at our home, I thought I would bring him home. But that’s never happening again.
They really need to stop sending people to Paradise valley hospital it’s not a good hospital it has several malpractice lawsuits. And the entire community knows what kind of hospital Paradise valley is. They don’t call Paradise, death valley for no reason.
There needs to be a choice and the family needs to make that call instead of staff.
With reviews there’s usually just one end or the other.
I wish I had known about this place for my dad . I won’t tell the horrible story here. .
I’m very close friend from church and the neighborhood Cherry Arnold who I just got off the phone with seems to be doing so well, I am very reassured since speaking with her and reading the reviews here and seeing the pictures .
I would like to see more pictures sounds really great .
Cherry is a real treasure and an angel on my shoulder . That she is being cared for so well and such a nice place means everything to me .
We have been very ill ourselves , and I have not been to visit but I look forward to it .
What I went through with my dad , I’m satisfied I would still have him if I had known about this place .
I am not disparaging other skilled nursing facilities in the least .
Our situation was about money and greed and a third wife’s children who did not want him to survive and come home . I just want to cry with relief knowing Cherry is being so well taken care of .
God Bless the blessed people who do medical care . THANK YOU , Del Wayne Gaines , Thomas F Gaines son .
take care with your elders , this is the kind of “place” someone should be to be “well” …
one place they even complied to that third families orders to take away my father’s 40,000 dollar teeth so he wouldn’t eat . But they did eventually ‘find’ his teeth since a real , caring , family member was involved .
I will recommend Castle Manor first to anyone . Thank you again . Live and learn riTe .
Note , the doctors did all they could for my father but that family of people wanted our properties and money . I am grateful for the doctors very much .
