Let me say first of all that there is no perfect nursing or rehab facility, but in my opinion Five Points comes as close to that goal as one could expect. Selecting a rehabilitation facility is a daunting task for which few of us are prepared, and after looking at several others, I decided on Five Points.
Krysta and her team run a clean, orderly, and welcoming facility where the staff are friendly, conscientious, and competent. The four halls converge on a large, bright, and open area which contains the nurses station, offices, and public visiting space where there are pleasantly arranged tables, chairs and sofas. There is even a faux fireplace that generates heat, and artwork on the walls. A very pleasant space indeed.
My 80 year old friend for whom I am caregiver, has just been discharged after almost 5 weeks of post stroke rehabilitative therapy. The physio, occupational, and speech therapists are all certified and attentive. The therapy gym is well equipped and spacious.
The rooms are reasonably sized, each with a large window and private bath. In the rehab wing, every effort is made to give each rehabilitating patient their own room, which was the case for my friend. Housekeeping services clean the room every day, and the laundry will wash your soiled clothes at no charge, if you choose.
Each room has its own thermostat; the AC and heating unit is very quiet.
My friend found the food tasty, but I augmented the meals with yogurt, cheese, fresh fruit and crunchy vegetables that we kept in a small dorm sized fridge which we procured ourselves.
The experience was very good, and I would not hesitate to recommend the Five Points facility without reservation.
