  1. Five Points is a great place for your loved one. My father I believe has been residing there for I believe 5 years. The staff are all so nice, they take the time to know the likes/dislikes of the resident. My father knows everyone by name and knows where they work. The Social Worker goes the extra mile to answer my calls and listens to my father’s every need and concern. I am called and let known if anything has happened to my father and or if my father just isn’t his normal self some days. The Social Worker goes and visits with the residents and that makes a big difference letting the residents know that she will be there for them when they need her .Or like my father does, go to her office to visit. My father lets me know he loves it at Five Points, he enjoys the staff visiting him, they know he loves Dr. Pepper and they bring him his Dr. Pepper and that makes his day. I am able to work, go home and get some rest knowing my father is in good hands. I believe some of the bad reviews are that some of the people expect something like a 5 star hotel and expect call lights to be answered in about 3 seconds as if their loved one is the only one living there. Thank you Five Points for making my fathers life there pleasant and happy.

  2. My family member has been here for almost two months and it is night and day compared to his last facility. The staff here is absolutely wonderful – Monalisa is incredible, Angie is great, Alyssa and the other therapists are excellent! Every interaction with nurses I’ve had has been excellent. Even the maintenance guy is on top of things and got my father’s tv up right when we asked. Therapy has been awesome and they’ve been very proactive to address our concerns and we’ve seen a ton of improvement in the last two months compared to the 6 months he spent in the last facility. Only knocked a star because my family member doesn’t love the food but he may just have high standards. Thank you to the staff and all the support you’ve given us!

  3. I recently placed a family member there, I can’t wait to be able to move my family member out of there. On the his second day there I went in the evening to feed him, I realized the tray belonged to his neighbor I went out to find the CNA and told her she took the tray from my family member and fed it to the guy it’s was originally for. The next night my family member fell out the bed so then they put a safety mat by his bed and instead of bed putting bed rails or getting a bed with bed rails the stuffed a pillow under the mattress to try and keep him from getting up. Every day I have a family member going up there and it’s always something. The second shift is the worst. They don’t want to help you do nothing since he has been there I have seen only 2 good workers there and that’s the 2 that on 2-10 shift on 10/14/24. The only problem I had with them was the language barrier they primarily spoke Spanish but real helpful. Everytime one of us there his call light is at the foot of his bed. I can go on and on. I appreciate the facility accepting him in but they need too FIRE that whole 2-10 shift that works on the 500 hall. I have to call up there for them to even give him water

  4. The bad reviews here are PAST problems and are inexplicably PAST tense!

I went to Five Points of Pflugerville Nursing Home & Rehab at the end of August 2024, on an unannounced visit. I went to check out the facility and discover IF it *might* be the right place for a family member to reside as a longterm resident.

After reading the Google Reviews, I was skeptical and hesitant, worried that it would be every bit as bad as the handful of 1⭐ reviews. Those bad reviews caused the equal number of 4 & 5⭐ reviews to average out at 2.9⭐ overall…

Because of accounts of the facility “smelling bad,” I laced a KN95 mask in lavender essential oil to put on, fearing the place would smell as bad as some of the reviews indicated.

I was SO surprised when I entered the front door and was immersed into a Hawaiian Luau! 🌺 😁

Front and center, a clever entertainer was singing to a room full of diverse residents. There were folks chatting & nibbling on goodies. Some people were singing, many were doing their own personal “jig” to the music! They were having A GREAT time. It made me smile!

Across the room were brightly decorated tables in the Luau theme, each loaded with refreshments.

As I walked through the room, I clutched my mask, expecting to be hit with the “smell” reported in some reviews… But NO… Nothing. I didn’t smell ANYTHING yucky or bad. It was just fine and I was relieved!

I relaxed about what had been my “pre-conceived,” albeit clearly wrong, ideas about this facility. I sought out Mona Lisa, Admissions Coordinator, who I spoke to on the phone earlier (she didn’t know I was coming) and I introduced myself.

Dressed in a colorful, floral dress, Mona Lisa fit right in to the Hawaiian themed event! She was genuinely excited to meet me; happy, pleasant, and eager to help me & answer my questions.

I asked for a tour and she nodded quickly, saying “YES!” – putting aside her work to show me around right then. That meant alot to me to be prioritized!

We walked and talked. She explained that the facility was under new management and it was clear that THAT is what had transformed this facility… a company that CARES!

She introduced me to every staff member who wasn’t actively working with a resident or family member. The Hawaiian-dressed staff members in my view were all helping residents with refreshments and assisting those with mobility challenges to move around the festivities.

I learned about the medical staff members: Director of Nursing, Director of PT, and Resident Nurse Practitioner, (whose little Yorkie Terrier side-kick, follows her everywhere and visits with every resident!) Mona Lisa said I can bring my dog to visit!

Each staff member I met was engaging, polite, and helpful. We talked about skilled nursing, physical therapy, activities, and meals.

I saw “real” resident rooms, not fancily decorated models. We spent 2 hours focused on my concerns.
I left relieved and VERY satisfied that this was the “right place” for my family member.

Two days later, I returned to start preparing my family member’s room with personal items (easy chair, TV, clothes and toiletries). I met Oscar, a member of Maintenance, who was delightful and eager to help. He looked at the TV & wall mount, and together we decided where it would be best to mount the TV. He assured me he would “take care of it” and true to his word, when I arrived the next day, the TV was up and ready to watch!

A week later, I got a phone call from the Personal Assistant to the company’s CEO, who was calling to check in with me and ask for my input and feedback.
Wow. Just wow! We talked for about 20 minutes. I told her everything you’ve just read in this review. I told her that the company has a wonderful set of values and core principles, but the PROOF is being there!

Experiencing it personally, I can say with confidence that Five Points of Pflugerville is a STELLAR facility with a hard-working, dedicated staff and is VERY well managed!

    Come see for yourself.
Come unannounced and take an impromptu tour.
    I’m glad I did!
    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
