Gulf Coast Memory Care is a haven for individuals experiencing memory challenges, offering a luxurious and comfortable lifestyle in Estero, Florida.
This is the cutest Memory Care in town! It looks like a fancy hotel. It smells great. Every single person I have interacted with has been professional, compassionate, and truly invested in the residence. Do not look any further. The value is here. The quality of care is here the leadership is amazing. Go talk to Jen and she will give you peace of mind and the best care possible.
Just to do something kind, I decided to volunteer at Gulf Coast Memory Care for half a day. I met Mr. Jerry Lee and he encouraged me. What an amazing experience! I think people having to put a family member into a senior facility don’t always know what really goes on behind the scenes or when family isn’t there watching. We all know horror stories of family members being mistreated.
I was let into the building by a staff member to go meet Mr. Jerry Lee, the Executive Director of the facility. He was not in his office so we walked through the lunch room and found him. Lunch was over and Jerry was hand feeding a man in a wheelchair. He introduced me and he explained to me that he didn’t want this resident to have his food taken away before he had enough to eat. He was joking around with him and the man was not talking but smiling, knowing exactly what Jerry was talking about. On the way back to his office, we stopped to help another resident, Bonnie. Jerry sat and helped her eat too, and was laughing and joking around. I met some of the staff, April, Michelin, Milton, Kathy and others. They were welcoming and each seemed conscientious and caring toward the residents. Mr. Lee said he really appreciates his staff.
Mr. Lee explained to me that each resident is a unique, special person. It may take me a while to know them and figure out each personality. He said that in memory care, they each live in their own kind of reality. Jerry told me that this is a calling on his life and he cares for each resident and staff member. He demonstrated such dignity to these residents. It was admirable.
I watched as Mr. Lee still took some time out of his busy day to read some short stories to the group after lunch. I took over and didn’t do nearly the good job he did, as he improvised to the group.
I spent time with some of the residents and was able to communicate with them some. Robert and Bill were great and shared lots of good stories with me. Robert told me what a great guy Jerry is. How many memory care residents would know the Executive Director intimately, like a buddy?
I just wanted to send this out so that people looking for a memory care facility, will look to Gulf Coast Memory Care. I know that a successful business happens from the top down. When you have an Executive Director, not sitting in an Ivory Tower, but down with the people, you know you’ve got the best care for your family member. God bless Mr. Lee and all the staff for their conscientious care of our elderly, precious citizens.
Wonderful kind and caring staff
Gulf Coast Memory has been a blessing for my Father as well as our family. The staff is very caring and compassionate and treat the residents like family. My Father refers to GC as his home and the peace of mind that gives to my family and I is priceless.”
