We provide coordinated therapeutic care for children, including medically and educationally based assessments and specialized rehabilitation programs.
Our team has been providing therapeutic services to children from birth through adolescence since 1977. We are one of the largest outpatient facilities of its kind for children in the area.
If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. This subacute rehab center should absolutely not be a place anyone ever considers for themselves, or someone they love and care for.
My dad was a patient here for about 2.5 weeks. On the day he was transferred to the rehab, he was walking with minimal assistance and able to carry a full conversation. Within those 2.5 weeks, he became bed bound and almost unable to communicate.
He was discharged with a UTI, a cough, and massive bed sore. We actually forcibly discharged him because of the blatant lack of care.
On one visit, we found him in his feces, and it took them over 30 minutes to even come to change him, despite us notifying them. The UTI was discovered a few days later with E.Coli bacteria in his urine. Who knows how long he was left in that state before we found him, and who knows how many other times it happened when we weren’t there.
My dad has been in multiple facilities throughout his cancer journey, and we’ve never seen ANYTHING like this. It was horrendous. These patients should be treated with respect and dignity, not left to decline the way my dad was. It’s appalling.
My dad ended up in the hospital 3 days after discharge due to a fever from the UTI infection, bed sore, and cough.
Avoid this facility at ALL cost!
This is the most incompetent medical facility I’ve ever encountered. Nobody on the overnight shift cares about the plight of their patients….I just suffered in pain because the nurses are too busy watching their phones rather than make an effort to do their jobs. Please, don’t ever even consider putting your loved ones here…unless you want them to die a miserable death.
Abuse of this elderly patient was evident throughout my cousins stay at this awful, rundown, understaffed, unsafe facility. She was left with soiled, wet briefs for hours on a regular basis. Her call button was removed and thrown on the floor in anger by the overnight shift leaving her helpless and vulnerable overnight. Food was delivered to a shelf across the room so she couldn’t reach it and food was also withheld. This was all within the 1st few days of admission until the family was able to transfer her out of this tortured situation. She left with bed sores and C-IFF!! DO NOT let your loved ones go to Hartwyck!!
Would even give someone a opportunity to get better instead refused people of getting help because I signed out of another spot after getting jumped
Never leave love ones alone in rehabs and hospitals. Post pandemic has left devastating impact on shortage of staff. My 29 year old son looks worst than when he first joined JFK Hartwyck. Please check for bedsores. Staff can do but so much. Nurses and CNA, staff very friendly however understaffed. ALARMS GO OFF ENTIRE NIGHT. The pulse meter alarms go off. Nurses can’t hear it because they have too many patients. What if the patient can’t breathe? Why keep pulse machIne on if they can’t hear it or ignore it. I have sp many recording of pulse/oxygen machone gpong off hours. I constantly call. Son came in with a trachea and g-tube from Kessler because he did amazing in Kessler. Do not send your love here after Kessler to stay overnight. My son ended up with stage 4 from hospital and from here. Not enough staff to reposition. Nurses are wonderful however son needs to be repositioned. I have to be there everyday to make sure he gets the attention he needs. 29 year old son trying to speak bored, fustrated and depressed. Son had pneumonia over 3 times. Praying to take son home. Dr K and does not realize. Range of motion is up most imperative. Stating..”Best to keep comfortable due to pain”. I should have never listened. What happened to pain management? My son is sp terribly contracted he is now crippled. Tired of fighting. GOD is on my side. I am bringing son home he is now in the nursing section of JFK because ot has been two years. Minimal phyical theraphy. THEY gave up on my son. NOW fighting to take son home with 24 hour assistance. He deserves to have 24 hour nurse and CNA because hospital and JFK Hartwyck did not help his limbs..horrible bed sores. Still fighting. Thank you nurses and CNA. It ‘s not there fault that the facility is understaffed. CNA has 9 patients. Sad. Do not send your love one rp JFK Nursing. You will regret it just as I regret it. After Kessler do not send love one here if they cannot speak!!!
