Happy at Home

My mom has been at Happy at Home for last couple of months after suffering from a stroke. She has her own room and her meds / food / ADLs are completely managed. She always has someone there to help her and a place where she has the freedom to do things on her own. If she wants to use the wheelchair, totally fine. If she wants to try and use the walker, amazing. Does PT/ST/OT need to come and do a session? Totally supported. The owners are a wonderful married couple, but the daily work is mostly supported by the wife. She is VERY easy to work with and listens very well to questions and concerns. I can text her anytime with thoughts and updates and never feel like I am being a bother. There are no visiting hours, which means I can pop by whenever I want within reason… and honestly, likely not within reason as well. I love that I get to take mom out and about whenever I want and fully supported in doing so. This option is 10000% better than a lot of the nursing care options I found in town. Besides some downtime while residents sleep, my mom has constant care at a 3:1 ratio. Even while asleep, there are cameras and call buttons to help with anything needed. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs extra support and is not able to live solo. I would say that if you have a loved one that wonders or needs a lot of memory support, this place may not be the best option. One of the things that make this home incredible is that it is not a locked down situation, but I can see that being a downside depending on where your loved one is on in their journey.
