I’m kind of torn on this review. My Grandfather lived here for almost 2 years. So this may be long.
In the beginning, the food was excellent but as time went on, the food got worse.
I did notice some of the employees, mainly in the cafeteria, talking “rough” to residents. They weren’t very compassionate for those hard of hearing or not understanding what was being asked of the resident.
In July, my Grandfather fell & broke his leg. After his hospital stay & rehab it was determined that he needed more help than he could get in independent living so he was moved to assisted living. We gave notice in August that he would be moving but because we didn’t give a 30 day notice, we had to also pay for the month of September & that was fine. This also gave more time to get his things out of his room.
Now, my Grandfather’s primary care taker is my Aunt who is 73 & has major health issues of her own.
We asked Crescent Heights, on 2 different occasions. if they knew anyone that might could use my Grandfather’s bed (he now has to use a hospital bed) & were told no. We were also told that we could not leave anything, like the bed, or they would have to get another dumpster out there (would NOT let us use theirs) & would charge us for it. So after a couple of weeks a couple from Church needed the bed & we made arrangements to meet them to pick it up. When my Aunt & the Church couple went to my Grandfather’s room to get the bed, it was gone. After making several phone calls, we were informed that a new resident came in that needed a bed & so a Crescent Heights staff member went in & took the bed, for this new resident without permission.
The only people that had a key to my Grandfather’s room are Crescent Heights employees, my Aunt & my Grandfather’s Brother.
Last week, my Aunt & Cousin went to get the remainder of my Grandfather’s things. When thy got to my Grandfather’s room Christmas family heirlooms were missing. After a face to face meeting, phone calls & several days of searching our heirlooms were located in a maintenance closet. But no one knows how they got there.
In the beginning, I would have given this place 5 stars but after all that we’ve gone through in the last couple of weeks, I really don’t think I would recommend them.
We love Crescent heights! My grandparents live there and are very happy and I know that I don’t have to worry about them. There are many activities to keep them busy and I have the pleasure of teaching dance fitness classes twice a week which is such a joy!
Crescent Heights is home for me. With many caring friends and staff members. There is always something fun to do. I invite you to come and see for yourself what a wonderful place this is.
I came here after spending some time in rehab due to an accident. I love it here. The staff are great and always willing to help. I’ve also made a lot of friends.
