Our primary mission is to reduce barriers and assist heads of households, whether a family or individual that are ready to commit to the journey of reaching sufficiency.
The House of Matthew is a needs-based organization that assists hundreds of families every year overcome barriers and reach their goals toward stability.
This is an amazing organization and I’m grateful for the support offered to me and my family during the holiday season. Mrs. Jeanette was so welcoming and helpful, also informed me of their other resources so I will be back.
There’s a process and protocol and if followed correctly, services will be provided. Thank you again to the House of Matthew!
I don’t think these reviews are reflection of how wonderful this organization is and how they operate. I can see right through them. I’m one of the people volunteering to help the organization be able to continue to be a huge part of the community and resource for so many. We need it.
You want a true representation go to facebook and look at the posts from real people who receive help from this organization, the amount of people they help is honestly astounding.
It’s the only place that is genuinely here to do the work. I can tell you that this organization is the only one I volunteer my time to because of the amount of work they do and how much they give.
If there was anything that I hoped they’d change, it would be to not put up with so much hardships , and entitlement from the community. But it’s ok. The organization will continue to serve thousands per year as they’ve done from my experience.
I’ve seen this all for myself. So,
People should volunteer here and see for themselves , too. Come volunteer to answer phones, help in the clothing bank or help deliver furniture to a family.
The House of Matthew helps serve more clients without funding than they do with funding , volunteering time and their own funds to help. They don’t wait for funding to help anyone. They jump in and do the work from early morning to after hours, not only volunteers but executives too. They are amazing and fulfill their mission every day. I am apart of that and it’s feels great.
Everything from clothing to educational work shops and housing and furniture. If there’s any organization to support it’s The House of Matthew.
Every year at Thanksgiving from 9am until probably 4pm hundreds of people are fed and all executives are in attendance. I don’t know too many nonprofit organizations whose CEO and executives spends every Thanksgiving with the community they serve and are in the office more than any one else.
I’ve personally seen the Founders and CEO create fundraisers to help families no one else could help. I’ve seen inviduals come in very rude and entitled but leave extremely humbled. Lol.
I’ll continue to volunteer every week✋️
Literally only go here if you want to feel worse about the situation you’re in. So rude; unhelpful and do not care if you waste what little time/money you have left. Idk who is keeping this place open, but please stop. Give the funds to the toy rescue or literally any other place.
The House of Matthew meet people in need of clothing, housing, and furniture. It’s the only organization that has real help, when you are willing to help yourself. I thank House of Matthew for the clothing bank and the workshops that allowed many of us with educational needs and access to permanent housing, networking with many organizations that serve many of pierce county citizens eligible for House of Matthew services. Thank you for your almost 20 years of service. We need to support organization like House of Matthew.
I called asking for christmas assistance and interview clothes and the person (for lack of better word) who answered the phone was the most condescending and unfriendly woman (again, lacking words) ive ever met ever! needless to say, she said she’ll call me to give me date and time to show up at their clothing bank, im still waiting. not sure who funds this place and why, they should really reconsider, i was feeling down due to not working and this witch just made me feel even worse. i got a great job now and I will never ever refer anyone to this miserable place. =)
