Hi, I used to work in the kitchen as a waitress and I watched one of the waiters the pull out an over toasted English muffin off of the top of a box that was in a trash can and told me that they don’t like to waste food. It’s strange because it’s an astronomic amount of money to be here. When I stood up for the fact that they were doing unsanitary things, I was fired. If you want to get ripped off, put your loved one here. Heather who was in charge of dining decided that she was firing me because I didn’t say ” Good morning” to her. In reality, I had made waves over the unethical food practices that were taking place to stand up for the residents because there are some genuinely wonderful residents that live here.
My family member worked here she got fired last week and they accused her of stealing money with no evidence at all they just heard little 17year old girls talk about this, and handed her a book that basically told her she needed help the staff is DISGUSTING!!!! And racist. Questioning a 18year old girl of stealing, she also helped hire some of the girls who worked there as well and they were very rude and dumb with no common sense I will be contacting a lawyer about this! Very disrespectful
horrible place! my cousin was fired from this place for being unlawfully accused with NO proof of stealing another employees money. they then gave her a book about mental health and telling her to go to therapy. HOW DISRESPECTFUL SHES ONLY 18, AND THERE IS NO PROOF OF HER STEALING. i find it very very unfair and racist. don’t ever tell a teenager about her mental health, and next time have proof about something before firing someone . if i were here i would SUE.
My mother lives here and because of work I, sadly, have to be 1000 miles away in Minneapolis. But I’m eternally grateful that she has the ability to live in a place like Jefferson’s Ferry where I know she’s being looked after! It’s a little like living in a hotel but with a community that cares because they get to know you. They have independent and assisted living- with medical facilities as well. It’s not a depressing “old folks home” at all! They do all kinds of activities, take trips, go into the City to museums and to the theater, they have movie nights, lectures, Friday cocktails, classes, workshops, clubs–my mum actually started the Garden Club! They have a beautiful indoor pool; a salon, a work out room, a library, a cafe and a more formal dining room, and many more amenities. Also the food is quite good! Always fresh and they go out of their way to please you. Our favorite is the summer barbecues! If you are considering Jefferson’s Ferry do not hesitate to visit for yourself!
